McCain's whole argument against Obama was that he was the more experienced candidate to pick. A guy who makes sound choices based on the years of knowledge. So what does he do as is first presidential choice? He picks a random woman, who has no place being vice president, just as a gimmick to get the Hillary vote.

Seriously, there are so many other people that are more qualified for VP then she is. Mitt Romney or Huckabee would have probably been the best for the job. But they didn't get picked, just on the fact that they dont attract Hillary supporters. That's sad. He thinks he can just trick people into voting for him with a gimmick.

Not to mention that both McCain and Palin are tied to big oil.
You can expect lots of oil drilling and record profits for 4 more years with them in the office.
No more republicans....please!

Ugh. Anyone who thinks that drilling in the ANWR will bring our oil prices down needs to do a little more research. Do you think it will be a govt. run operation and they'll just distribute the oil freely to US citizens? No... it will be allowing major profit-based corporations like Exxon in who will continue to sell oil at market prices, just like everywhere else in the world.
And what about the pipeline that needs to be constructed (which will take ~10 years of construction before we ever were to see a drop of oil hit our pumps)... That will slice across the Wildlife Refuge as well. And side effects from the construction and pollution, and then there are leaks and spills. I could post a photo of a black oil-covered baby seal, but I'm sure you can imagine it so I'll spare you.
And you'd think that price of oil is dictated by supply/demand, but its not at all. Why do prices continue to rise as we have major oil surpluses? Its the damn speculative futures trading and the irresponsibly loose regulations on it.

But hey, maybe this is all a good thing... the madder people get about things, and the less they see options in McCain and Obama, the more who will look into an option they've never considered before, which this year is represented by Ron Paul. If each year they gain 5% of the voters they'll get themselves on the map in no time, and hopefully by then they won't be as corrupt as the mainstream guys.

You do know that lots of Hillary supporters weren't just voting for her because she is a women, unless you want to admit right now that the democrats/liberals are shallow and are just voting for Obama because he is half-black?

I would hope since the libs attack Bush for being a "dumbass" that they would have a more intellectual approach of voting other than, "This candidate has a vag, I am voting for her." Instead of looking at issues.

FYI, from what I have seen of Hillary supporters was that they weren't just voting for her because she was a women. They saw her as a better choice than Obama. Maybe they didn't agree with Obama's ultra-left wing views and wanted the less liberal Hillary? Maybe they saw through Obama as having no substance and just blabs on about "change" and "hope" with no real plan or backing. And its not like all women were voting for Hillary to begin with.

Huckabee supports McCain's choice and says she has more experience than Obama. Do you really think Huckabee would have been a good VP pic? Do you really think that an ultra-right wing VP is what the Republican party needs to get votes in this tight race? The Reps already got the ultra right wing votes tied up, and having an ultra right wing VP would push away anyone thats still undecided.

Give me a long weekend with Sarah and no pants and when I'm done drilling for oil she'll be singing a different tone.

No. I think Hillary supporters voted for her because she is a good candidate that is very qualified for the job.
But I think McCain is trying to gain their sympathy by throwing in another woman into the mix. "Hey look... she JUST like Hillary. Vote for me/her!".

That is the truth.
People assume that more drilling will just mean cheaper prices for the consumer. It wont. It will just cut out the middle man (saudi arabia) so that companies like Exon will make more profit.

Even Exon execs testified to congress that if there wasn't speculation in the stock market, the price of oil, based on current supply/demand, should be around the $2-3 range.

This whole energy crisis is a scam on american people to make more money from oil.

And you are just assuming this is what would happen also, speculation.

You do realize that the US isn't the only ones "getting screwed by the man on oil," EVERY OTHER COUNTRY IS MORE MONEY THAN US FOR GAS

And its just crazy speculation to say McCain picked a woman just to get "sympathy votes," where is some proof in this? There isn't, its just a conspiracy theory. If she had a wang and the same views, no one would be questioning his choice.

The point people are making is, if she had a "wang", they don't think she wouldn't have been chosen.

No. Because she is in no way shape or form qualified for the job of vice president or even president (should something happen to McCain).

She was a Governor of Alaska for 2yrs. They have a population of 9,000 people max. She has zero knowledge or experience with any forum of foreign policy.

I know you're a McCain supporter, and thats cool. Im not here trying to tell you who to vote for. I think everyone should make up their own mind. But the only thing I'm trying to point out is that her being chosen for VP was more of a political move, then it was in choosing the best person for the job.

There are even reports out that McCain never even heard of her, and only met her once before making his choice. He just wants to swing the numbers his way by trying to gain sympathy from Hillary supporters.

Please don't argue experience of McCain's VP pick because "she might have to run the country if McCain died" but the truth of the matter is, you can vote for Obama and he doesn't have the experience to run the country.

The fact of the matter is McCain has the experience, Obama does not, stop trying to play "what if games" and putting Palin in the Oval Office already.

And if you want to use some facts, go right ahead and do that to give your argument something to stand on. Alaska has a population of 670,000 people and is the biggest land mass state at a size 600x the size of Delaware. Managing that doesn't seem like an easy feat. But then you got Obama who has no executive experience at all. And no where do you have proof that McCain picked her "just to get Hillary votes" that is just speculation and ridiculous to base your total opinion of Palin on.

Do you honestly believe Hillary supporters are going to be wooed to McCain just because he has a woman VP pic? Or are Hillary supporters going to vote for McCain because they are turned off by Obama, as many statistics have shown. Last I heard that 25% of Hillary supporters are voting for McCain just because they don't like Obama.

Facts please. Facts. None of this conspiracy bull****
