i say get that software u need upload some of these onto PS and learn from there. Do your corrections on PS helps you learn the editing process of digital photography and then also teaches you what areas you need to better yourself shooting so it comes out of the camera better. Why i shoot raw. You cant have a photo without editing just as with film, Dodging and burning in the darkroom, overexposing correclty the negatives, ect.

Man, what have you been reading? Up until the last post there was nothing constructive just blanket garbage statements that didn't help me out at all. Like people can tell me its garbage but can't elaborate so who really knows if they even know what the hell they are talking about, so how is that telling me whats wrong with my pictures? It doesn't. Post's like gorrilaz is just garbage and arrogance. Oh thank you so much for making such a helpful sarcastic, cocky comment, as if that criticism helped at all

White Balance - use the proper white balance setting, once you learn more, use custom white balance.
Focus/Exposure - Your exposures seem too long for hand held but too short for proper exposure of the subject. Some of your shots are blurry. Get a tripod, raise your ISO, or change you F stop to compensate
Composition - This is probably one of the most important things in art, let alone photography. Always think about composition. 5 and 6 are ok... but the rest don't do too much for the viewer.
Post Processing - use it to fix your mistakes when taking the photos. Bump the exposure up on the dark ones, adjust the color temp on the blue or yellow ones. There needs to be pure white in some of those, and there isn't pure white in any?
thanks for the help. A tripod was used. Shutter speed was at like 1/5th of a second I think with the apperature at 3.5 I believe. I didn't get a chance to mess with exposure settings well until last night, after I got the pictures I posted loaded I realized other things I need to try and I tried longer exposures last night

i never said your stuff was garbage but post those on the 2 forums i meantioned and i will garantee ull hear comments like gorillaz and helpful ones. Dont go blowing up on me because u cant take peoples words(ignore the ignorance) and i wasnt being sarcastic if u want me to be ill be blunt and say ya, dude ur pictures look like they were taken with a disposable camera but i am not like that. all i said was for you to get it in with the editing because mr "i was used to 35mm film" should have known from the get go just like film there are always places to improve once u bring it into the "darkroom" not just about "complete gear"
I'm not blowing up on you. I just don't need you there to sit there and lecture me on that I should take the criticism as if I was getting anything worth while from anything people were saying. The thing is, I wasn't getting anything constructive, I wasn't getting anything that helped, and all I did was point that out and you feel the need to lecture me on how "welcome to criticism" bull****. I wasn't saying your post was cocky, I was calling gorrilaz's cocky and sarcastic. If you are going to lecture me at least read. Thanks

They have one for CS2, thats what i use. You can also look into. http://www.irfanview.com/. I never used it but thats what a quick search got me.
other then that, you can download a trial of lightroom.

as far as the criticism, I feel bluntness is the best way to go. Most people don't have the time to worry about peoples feelings nor do they care. I try to be somewhat helpful, but normally I don't have the time to nit pick and tell someone everything that could be better. Honestly, if you don't know what you need to improve on, then thats where the problem starts. I look at my photos and I can tell what i screwed up and what i got right. You need to gain that experience, and no one can help in that. having people tell you what it is the whole time is only going to make you rely on someone else's comments more. I know some of my photos are technically not good, but if i like the over all outcome of it, **** the technical stuff. Photography is an art, and most of the time innovations in art come from mistakes.

The best advice i have for anyone starting out... Take lots and lots and lots of pictures!!!!! Practice is the key to being good at anything.

I just wanted advice to catch me up to this camera's features faster as its all new to me. Saying "Exposure sucks on most of them learn how to use your ****ing camera" may be blunt but how am I supposed to know what the hell you are talking about when you don't say which pictures or anything

The download of Nikon Capture 4 was only an update, I need an older version for it. ugh

Camera features and photo critique are very different?

The main problem is you don't know which images are underexposed, or off. Not many people are going to go into such details about 10 randomish pictures. You gotta take "the exposure is off in most of them" comment as: I need to work on exposure, not in just one image but most of them. Same with the color balance. When you look at your photo, compared to the one i edited do you see the differences? do you see how they are different? hopefully you do... and with that... try to make yours look like mine...

Try using the auto features, i know there should be some sort of auto exposure and auto aperture, try using one of those, and adjust the other property. (personally i like to use the auto exposure and then manually adjust the aperture) then once you get that down pat, work on full manual.

The best thing you can do is to just keep at it.

heres a cool tip in getting you up to speed.

Put your camera on a tripod, In manual mode, Set the camera, exposure, aperture, iso etc etc. To what you think is right. Take a photo.
Then turn your camera to full auto mode. Take the same picture. compare them.

ISO looks good on these... white balance not so much...

Your camera is programed to make sure that all the settings will render a good picture. So if you change the settings manually take a photo, then go to auto and take a photo you should see what needed to be improved?

forget about color for the moment...
