Alex, you can't be serious. That just might be the dumbest thing you've said all week.

I don't know if any of you guys realize this, but Cobalts are extremely competitive in just about every single racing class they have ever been involved in. Especially time attack and Pro FWD.

I say go for it, they are an awesome platform.

how about a wrx or older sti?
I would love to get an STI, but I really want to get something brand new and that would be way out of my price range... WRX's are nice and they were def something I was thinking about but I don't like the style of the new ones.

you seem pretty set on what you want...get the cobalt

BTW Aaron, the only reason I said that was because every fast FWD car I have driven has had torque steer, I dont even care about the wheelspin but it was pretty uncomfortable having torque steer in a cooper S at 60mph

Two hands on the wheel Alex, two hands. Take your hands off only to shift, most people don't do that.

Get the Cobalt, they are going to be the new SRT-4 only with turning capabilities to boot.

Well my civic had no torque so it was never a problem, msm doesnt torque steer at all, i cant remember much that did except the srt-4, cooper s, and an 03 maxima SE 6-speed we had, but that was minimal..I guess its something owners have to get used to, but it certainly scared the hell outa me

The turbo version is new so even if there are problems, its unlikely you will know about them yet. General rule is usually not to buy a car during its first release year, but I dont recall if this is the first or 2nd for the turbo cobalts rather than the supercharged ones.

Try to get some info from Consumer Reports

I was in a o5 SS Cobalt the other week, giving the chick beat the S out of it. It's still not enjoyable, I'd rather be pissed off owning a junkie focus, then owing more on that car.

Although with the turbo in '08... things may change, but I believe it's still the same chassis/suspension.

Why not a '08 GTI?

No more VW for me for a while. Just want something new. I test drove it and it handles great and the ride was very smooth. My friend also has a 2005 and I believe the 08' are def an upgrade compared to them.
