ha cizin thats crazy but its pretty cool. what kind of designs did people end up with and how far were they going?
i just remember the 'egg drop' at the engineering school in college... it was a challenge to make a way to drop an egg from the highest point without it breaking... they were getting up to the 4th story and above.

They launched them from the third story of the engineering building and if I remember correctly, they were hitting the library steps which is maybe 200+ yards away.

From what I was told is angle of attack of the wings in relation to the launch speed and balance of the fuselage. No one would give their calculations out though.

i jus finishing building mines... its WACK! goes up then straight down.. throw it hard enough it make go a little further

Sad to say I'm with purl on this one. A paper plane with more than "fold here, then throw" as building plans, is more than I am interested in doing.

I just made THE best air plane ever in the link on page one, and I'd say its the best plane ever. Not one throw was less then about 20 seconds.
