They will do a crash investigation if the person is in critical condition and they think their going to die.
Atleast thats how Allentown Pd responds to crashes like this.

That's how Philly PD does it too, but when the state troopers are called, it means there's definitely a fatality. The state troopers are never involved, even with the SEPTA/PennDOT accident.

Not always recently from what I have heard.. Apparently the State Troopers are taking BACK the expressways ( IE 95, 76,Rt 30 by pass, Rt 202 bypass, Rt 1 bypass, etc ) and Philly is trying to go BACK to the city to solve some of these UNSOLVED crimes they have ( which believe it roar not are MORE that ANYWHERE in the country) to get caught up and get the problem under control before it is once again ( as it was 30 some odd years ago ) the Crime Capitol of the US and a close Capitol of crime in the WORLD.Seriously tho.. it Could be a Protocol of your work.. not Doubting that one bit.. just saying it could be a new protocol of theirs too.. As a Transit Company you wouldn't know the inner workings of the state Troopers ( State PD technically) or the City PD had they changed it up so to speak since ( again no offense) the SEPTA PD want the SAME pay rate the Philly PD gets for keeping after Crime on the rails and buses, etc ( and again No offense but Philly PD itself feels it deserves more than Septa PD for some STUPID reason.).. again No offense to the Septa PD since I think they are making due with what they have which is respectable.. but for some reason I think Philly PD is trying to Screw with them in a way.. anyways.. I don't think even tho it may be YOUR protocol ( as in SEPTA) for the staties to get involved ONLY if its a fatality, I think times are changing and staties are starting to patrol MORE expressways in Philly that ANYONE thinks.. Again I CANT speak for them.. and tbh.. nobody from them TRUTHFULLY will.. but its a pattern I have noticed lately.. especially tonight picking up and bringing my friend back to my place I saw about ( and this is an estimation but Nowhere NEAR a lie) 15 State Troopers along the way (which have been cracking down on speeders, Aggressive and drunk Drivers )and ( i know the incident on 95 was kinda screwy and my friend like I said he lives very VERY near the S Philly Station off of Oregon ( it is Oregon right??? less than a full block from the checkers.. you know Modder what im talkin bout.) ANYWAYS.. I saw bout 15 of then to and from between 76 and 95 that were only watching traffic IN AND OUT OF PHILLY. hence why I heard something of them being more on the Expressways in the state.. Especially in Philly since MOST accidents in SE.PA occur IN Philadelphia ( from what I heard from a state trooper ) and require some degree of state troopers "accident scene recreation " scientists to Investigate ( teacher said that don't blame me for Mis representation)... to me it makes no difference if CSI investigates or ACSI ( accident Crime scene investigation) checks it all out and makes sure things don't add up to "pre-Meditated Murder" which 9 times out of 10 they dont.. but still.. this is ONE of the 2 things I am going to school for.. and TBH( and they will NEVER admit it) its not ONLY De State Troopers cracking down on Speeding and aggressive driving.. its PA as well and that COMES from a PA state trooper. So Drive safe and know about this hill People.. on top of that DRIVE SAFE AND BE RESPONSIBLE IF YOU ARE TOO INTOXICATED TO DRIVE OR PLAN ON BEING SO.. TAKE A CAB. and if yhou want to race.. KEEP IT AT THE EFFING TRACK!! Again I cant speak for the..but still.. you get my point.. Bikes are NO SAFER than a car ( truthfully from what i have seen cars TECHICALLY are safer in this type of incident
especially with PA's newer no helmet rule) Anyways.. keep racing at the track guys.. I know we Occasionally get into a street spat, but still.. BIke., car , truck.. KEEP IT AT THE TRACK!

I read it, and got slightly confused.

I understand what you're saying. SEPTA PD is a completely different union and division, but they go through the philadelphia academy, and have all the rights and responsibilities of a philly officer. Yes, they carry, no they're not rent-a-cops. They DO have power, and a lot of it. They tend not to abuse it like people see normal officers do, because they work for a huge company that have 0 tolerance for outright stupidity. (IE: you get caught blowing a redlight, in a company vehicle, you're fired. As far as the SEPTA police, afaik. Buses work on more of a warning system, and YOU pay the fine, along with getting hit with some serious company heat.)

I also regret the loss of a soldier. My whole point in my aggravated post is that there are some occupations that expect death. I have many ex-military friends who said they intentionally DIDN'T make friends while deployed because of how much it hurt when they lost them. Where in "Diesel Mechanic" should you see death?

Soldiers/Marines/Grunts, whatever you want to call them. They've got balls. They see death every day. I would have been right there next to them had I not gotten hurt before I could sign. You may say I can't handle it, but honestly, I have a strong stomach, but it's the fact I don't have to deal with this every day that irks me. If I had to clean tissue/hair/brains/blood/etc from buses all the time, fine, but I don't. It's rare occasions. (Yes, I've found LOTS of hair under/on buses from accidents. I'm glad I didn't have to work the 33 when the guy got shot in the head on the bus.)

thats nuts, i know the feeling though. I was driving to work at 7 am on july 10th and looked into the park i passed to see a guy sitting in kind of an awkward position. I turned around just because it looked so weird. The dude shot himself in the face and was dead! Kemper park in warrington. I used to go to that park all the time and sit on that same bench all the time. so the creepiness/chills feeling is all too real knowing that a dead guy was around somewhere where youre used to being.

yeah My post was rather long and back and forth.. and I don't remember typing much of it.. must have been late and I was not in a frame of mind.. But What I meant is I know they have powers and don't abuse it, but I meant that as far as solving crimes and what not, They don't do much of it really. They just keep a riot and crime from happening on the transit lines.. or try to anyways..Back to my original point.. Was that State Troopers frequent accident scenes anymore.. And I was thinking something along the lines of Philly Cops are going back to taking care of crime in the city and trying to get it under control again , So a State Trooper being at the scene of this accident may or may not have been a fatality.. but since it was a bike, and likely the rider wasn't wearing a helmet, and it was at a high rate of speed ( which is obvious from the collision point) then yes it likely was a fatality. I haven't seen too many guys on a bike hit something at a high rate of speed without a helmet and live to tell about it.

I doubt it could have been much worse to witness than the GSP accident I saw awhile back.

Another biking accident where dude was weaving in and out of traffic. Saw him about 10 cars up misjudge a weave, catch the bumper of a truck, and go down. Tire decapitated/crushed his face. Brain matter has a VERY disgusting smell, and I was nauseous for a week. The stuff on the side of the bus brought that scene to mind, and it's really what irks me a lot.
