Btw, when you guys rattle can these, make sure you pick up a can of high temp primer and 500deg clear coat. It makes the valve cover last forever and is resistant to any oil spills that would normally damage the paint. A lot of people just do the color without primer or clear, and it starts to flake off after a few weeks and ends up looking like crap.

I stripped and polished my VC and painted the letters red. At the time it was cool, now I hates it. Time to go get some wrinkle red and do it up nice.

I, and a few others I know, ran into problems with the high temp clear coat. It turns yellow. My husband had an awesome silver valve cover, painted with high temp silver and then with high temp clear, and within a week it turned "poop gold." My silver lettering turned gold because of the clear coat yellowing. I dunno, I am not a fan of high temp clear coat....

it held up very good actually. I gave it a good coat of high temp primer, than base coat, the paint and than a good clear coat. Ran for a good 2xxx miles on a turbo honda til i sold it, never fade and very easy to clean. a good rule ive learned is to let each coat to dry properly.
