I used this trick to unlock every car in the parking lot of the Cherry Hill Mall. After that I turned on my cruise control and got into the backseat to take a nap but I caused a nasty 3 car pile up. I guess cruise control doesn't mean auto-pilot.

Relaying remote entry system signals via telephone might work if the signals were sound-based, but they're not. An RKE system transmits an encrypted data stream to a receiver inside the automobile via an RF (radio frequency) signal, a signal that can't be effectively relayed via cell phone. (In any event, RKE systems and cell phones typically operate on completely different frequencies; the former in the 300 MHz range and the latter in the 800 MHz range.)
Care to explain the scenerio since it's physically impossible?

Ok so I'll sit here on the couch and you go out to the driveway where the car is...

Then you call me and I'll push the button...

The door unlocks...

You exclaim that is works... It is the cell phone of course, because the key fob couldn't unlock the car from the couch by itself.

UHHHH....yeah it can. I've unlocked my car with my remote from two blocks away with my remote. As previously stated it's not the sound of the transmitter that unlocks the car, it's the frequency and the frequency that does it. P.S. I was being sarcastic when I said it worked. I'll challenge you to make this work at the next TST we both show up at.

Only if I get to stand close enough to unlock the car without the cell phone.
