I had Ryan over at Area1320 take a look at it and there is def low compression in cyl 1 & 3. Thanks a ton Ryan.

I thought about taking it back but if I can get a brand new short block out of it I would much rather have that. I'm going to find out today what is going on.

nice so they found low compression, then they changed their mind and said it wasn't low... but it really is.
i would think about going to a different dealership, one that knows what an engine is.

Thats a stand up move by Ryan! Glad you figured it out dude and good luck with the stealership, don't let them walk on you and threaten them nicely with a lawyer if they don't obey.

yea the car was dropped off at faulkner subaru and the compression tests are now as follows:

cyl1: 95
cyl2: 65
cyl3: 95
cyl4: 65

Faulkner Subaru is doing a good job a keeping me informed about what is going. They said they should have the block ripped appart and have an answer tomorrow.

As for for Scott they are still being ****ty at customer service. I called them about trying to get a rental and they said they would call faulkner, talk to them and get right back to me. An hour later I had not heard back so I called to find out what was going on because I am stuck at work. They said they called faulkner and they are waiting on a reply back.

Since they have already lost my trust I decided to give faulkner a call and find out if they really called. The manager over there said that Scott never called. Being the nice people that they are, Faulkner called Scott and then called me right back saying no one at Scott picked up. Here I sit... sigh

NEVER BUY FROM SCOTT!!!

I am betting on a ****ty rebuild that just failed. They can't deny that!

I am not fimiliar with the Subies stock compression but I am guessing you are seeing half of what is supposed to be there. I am suprised it even starts with all four that low. Is their anyway to find out the history on the car?

Well finally some good news. The timing belt tore a bit and slipped. Faulkner has sent the head out for machining and is tearing the rest of the block apart to inspect the bottom end. They are telling me if everything goes as planned they will have the car back to me by Friday !

They are covering the cost of the repair under factory warranty but said there are a couple minor things that will not be covered. According to them I should not have to pay anything over $100 which imo Scott should be paying but I'm sure they'll give me a hard time about that too. Actually Faulkner said they called Scott to give them an update and they told Faulkner that they weren't paying for anything. Assholes.

I guess I'm going to have a little chat with whomever I have to talk to about getting their inspection license revoked for selling me a car that does not pass emissions and also have a little chat with the bbb.

I actually was surprised to learn that the BBB is more than a fancy name and dealerships run from them dude. They don't want their rep getting screwed up. I took Nissan a couple times over a small isssue with a driveshaft clunk and after a "fake" lawyer called them they Nissan of North America (NNA) wanted to help me. I did however file a claim and it was taken care of immediatley but untill I threaten them nicely nothing was going to be accomplished. If you can get out of this for $100 consider that a gift dude! If you really want to invest all your time and get it back more power to you but it is a hard road traveled by many and takes weeks!

Well no car for the weekend... SIGH

i guess I'll use the weekend as an excuse to finish painting the engine bay in my 240sx so I can drop the motor in. Now I just have to find a ride to Stroudsburg.
