whats your point? So the people down there were cool a couple years ago? Whats that have to do with tonight?

I hear enough stories about what happens down there LATELY that I will never touch that area during that time.

I went down once, a couple years ago when I first bought my car, and it was hella lame. And no, I didn't race I parked with some friends and watched a bunch of hondas...

Thats when I went to the drag strip to see some real cars run...

i used to go down there a couple times a month. most cars were ghey, but it was usually worth sitting through to see a few cool cars. i once saw a crazy i mean CRAZY little white civic with slicks sticking out the front fenders about 2 inches each side. anyway, this thing stayed head to head with a beautiful z06. craziest race ive ever seen in person. i think there was vids of it on U-tube, but not sure anymore.

also one time i saw a turbo rx-7 race and then crash at the end of the drag. i had its run on video, but only got the sound of the crash. right after the crash, the dude took off his plate, and left the car. minutes later a bunch of people pryed the hood open and started stealing everything it was bizarre.

also, the bikes were AWESOME a couple summers ago. i used to go down there on my katana and my friend on his ninja. hundreds of bikes at times. a couple times i went with the bikes to this abandoned back road where they stunt. it was very cool. its where i 1st tried doing donuts on my bike

but you guys are right about not wanting to go there. last year i went down and my buddy and i had a gun pullled on us at the hess. we were parked up at a gas pump and the dude wanted our spot, its crack head idiots that really ruin it. i have video of him later on that night skitzing out and runnin out into the street trying to kick a car hahahah

edit: oh and a lot of the times, cops would be on it pretty good, and racing would only last about 5-10 minutes a piece until they came through. but ive been there many times when racing at one spot lasted for over 45 minutes at a time. also, ive heard of cops boxing off the whole street and handing out tickets, but ive never actually seen it. we always parked way off the street so if they DID block the street off, we could just run to our cars and route

I used to go down all the time when I had my integra. I never actually raced, but I did go down to just watch at 61st at the Hess station. I would park my car infront of the building next to the station because I knew the guy who owned that shop, guy was cool as ****, and his dad was big as ****, so if anyone would **** with the cars out front he would fight them. This one time, out front of that same shop, the owner (big ass mother ****er) told this kid that he couldn't park there, and it was me and a couple other of my friends were parked there (we had premission) we werent actually watching the races. anyway, he told the kid he can't park there. the kid ignored him and went over to the races. the owner was like, well you wont find your car here when you get back. the kid was like what ever dude, your not going to do anything. so when he left the owner got a front end loader with forklift attachments on it, drove right up to his car, put the forks through his window, and as some of you may know, theres a junkyard on the other side. so he picks up the car, and drives across the street, and dumps the car on its roof on the other side in the junkyard. the cops come and we see the kid running back he was like "man, where the **** is my car". owner of the shop replied by sayin, i told you not to park there. he turned around and went back and the kid walked away with his buddy and left.

but street racinging down there is a waste of time. i got two tickets, street racing and expired insurence card. i got lucky my car didn't get towed. the out come was, i tried to fight the ticket, lost, and the consequence was i lost my license for six months.

I used to go almost every weekend, havent been down there since i got busted spectating. I was racing almost all night and decided to take a break and watch a little. Cop came right up behind me and i ended up with a $500 ticket, 6 month suspension and 5 points. Not worth it at all.

i went once with deb38. 500 bucks and a court date later, i will never go back. and for those wondering i was pulled over at a red light with my left turn signal on.
haha I knew you would chime in. that event was quite lame, considering you didn't race...nor were there any races going on at the time. in fact no one was near you, except for me...BUT because my car is stealthy they opted to go for the riced out car = )

last time I went there were a couple decent rides, including a mustang that got trailered in. aside from that, it's mostly fart cans and gauge pods filled with volt meters and clocks

I used to go to the races all of the time until the last S4 Accident. That killed it. Now if you even have tint a cop will pull you over.. Seriously it happened to a friend of mine. Then they got a ton of fines.

As for people stealing and having guns and so on and so forth. I've never seen it. All of the people who are there are very nice.

However if your behind the airport on a Bike it's much better. But be careful because a lot of the kids doing stunts don't necessarily watch whose coming around the bend.

Yeah I remember that, I was like oh **** hot white TurboII 7, it starts hustling down then bang. By the time we walked down, the owner was out, and I see some ***boat trying to pry off his HKS.

The races got worse and worse every year. Too much rice, too many idiots and everyone seems to have a gun.

ahhhh, almost a year ago.. may 4th, pretty much bored, "lets go to philly"
take a drive out there with my girl, was pretty dead cause it was only 10pm.
started to get a bad feeling when sitting at the hess, so i decide to head home.
turn on the main strip, headed back to 95, almost get to the light, and a car flies up behind me.
keep in mind, i wasn't speeding or anything, i was driving perfectly normal.
who would have though, it was a cop, put his lights on and pulled me over.

two officers get out come to either side of the car, ask for id and all that jazz.
of course they gave me a hard time, asking me why i was out there..
i told him i was just there taking a drive, they refused to take that answer.
after asking me about 4 times why i was there, my answer never changed.
so they walk back to their car, takes 10 mins.. come back and hands me and my girl our ids and stuff back. and lets us go

month later get notices in the mail saying i never paid tickets and blah blah blah. how can i pay for a ticket that i never got??
sooo, my girlfriend and i both got street racing tickets, even though she was in the passenger seat... (what the f*ck??)
and of course, they got me for window tint..

after about 4 months, 3 court visits, and $750 for attorney later, get everything reduced to minor speeding violations..

my advice. don't even bother.. waste of time, money, and possibly a life.

it's on hog island rd. in philadelphia, near tinicum township. I work at the UPS plant down the street there. Actually, if you pass UPS just keep driving and you'll see the tunnel.

Hog Island Road is sick. I love it in the twisties.

I've got pulled over on that road though because my dunmbass was speeding in front of a cop. I've seen staties off the side of the road in ditches patrolling too. It's definitely shady down there.

Also a good place to do a sick burnout in that tunnel.
