i can imagine, but i bet the time flew by because it was so intense lol.
You ever watch Dinner:Impossible? Try doing that, alone, 3 times a day, 30+ people, with at least 14 different diet types, 4 different diet consistencies, and endless preferences. All of which must be met, and all of which must be met within temperature spec AND the quality must be above average.

People complain about hospital food, but man, you must really not know what goes on...and my food is the ****, but mainly b/c I ball out and go nuts sometimes lol

AND you do all of the dishes, all of the clean up, and all of the setup and prep for both the meals the day of and a meal the next day.

lol, I hate my job sometimes, but i'm fully convinced i'm taking time off of purgatory with it lol

Sounds like a pilot schedule.

I pretty much refuse to work more than 8 hours a day. I hate work so I try and do it only as much as is needed to do the things I want. I would rather enjoy life. Maybe it is because I have not found a job I like enough to be there any more though, who knows.

I have been working 12 hours shifts for about 4 or 5 years now.
I work 6p-6a. 3 days one week and 4 days the next
this is my schedule for a year
S off, M/T work, W/T off, F/S work
S work, M/T off, W/T work, F/S off
basically I am off every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
You get used to the hours pretty quickly or at least I did. Back when I first started I used to sleep all day up til when I had to get up and get ready to get to work on time. Since then I have learned to get up around 1 or 2 so this way if I need to do something before work I could get it done. These last 2 weeks have been crazy for me though. Last week I worked 6a-6p on a 2nd day off so I could sleep the night before, Friday night I worked an extra 6p-6a shift. Sunday I worked extra 6a-6p and Thursday I am working 6a-6p as well. Last night I went to sleep at midnight and woke today at 4pm. 16 hours. I needed it.
But yeah when you only work your normal 14 days a month it is great. Also when taking vacations it's great also, I get 16 days vacation, and each time I take a vacation I have to use 4 days, if you plan right with your days off 4 days vacation will get you 11 days off

i'm starting to like these 12hr shifts. the more i hear about it from you guys, the least painful it sounds.

im sure i'll get used to it because i've done it before. just not permanently.

only major difference between your job and i Mrjaydeeone, that i don't rotate days. i'm forever going to be thurs-sat 6am till 6pm. i was told i may have to work a sunday here and there which will give me 84hrs on my check (4hrs being time and a half) so either way, since its not every sunday, it'll be alright.

oh I see I see. That's cool. My normal checks are 36 hours 1 week, and 48 hours the other week, so 76 hours straight pay and 8 hours time and a half Plus I get 76 hours night differential. I get 10% more an hour from 6pm until 6am

I work for Wawa and am Guaranteed at least 46.5 hours a week but I am ALWAYS in the 50 - 55 hour range in a week, I'm usually there for at least 10 if not more hours a day and like everyone said you get used to it.

I make a decent amount and get a monthly bonus plus full benefits, 401k, Profit sharing and all that good stuff...And Talks of another promotion in a month or two.
