Try a 2008 belt that requires no pulley.

it doesn't need a pulley because the a/c compressor is adjustable. The belt alone wont do squat.

Grimm- go to Subaru. I believe they have an updated pulley now

There's a tool that the '08 belt comes with that stretches the belt on. That's why the belt costs what it does. As far as I know, the compressor and its mount is the same as the previous years.

A quick search shows plenty of threads on other forums (3GWRX.com, IWSTI, etc) and manufacturer instructions (Group A, Perrin) saying that a new belt with the tool is required to install a crank pulley on an 08 Impreza.

why is it that you can no longer order parts from a dealer over the phone or online? this is such crap. I need a $13 part and unless i go to the dealer they won't order it for me!!! Oh and they are all closed on saturdays!!

will that belt fit? it's $60 rather not spend $60 to be a guinea pig.

it is possible. the last one i didn't think would have been over tightened since i could easily twist the belt almost 90 degrees. so top and bottom were now left and right. what happened was where the tensioner bolt threads thru the plastic, the plastic snapped. the other 2 times i wasn't the one touching it so who knows.
