Again, just tell me what the estimate says.
Overhaul rear bumper? Repair rear bumper? R&I rear bumper cover? Replace rear bumper cover? Blend LT/RT QT panels? Set up and measure? Rough pull? What are labor rates for paint, metal, frame? Give me some information and I'll help you out. |

Usually shops will write to replace rear absorber and impact bar for any collision involving bumpers but nobody knows what that means and don't question it but usually there is ZERO damage to those components.
That would easily cost another $250-400 |

He called me about a half an hour ago and said he founf another place that would do it for a grand.
rpr bumper cover add clear o/h bumper assy repl rt bumper cover retainer outer upper outer lower reatal car per day (3 days @ $120 per) when he came to get the money in his truck ??????? flex additive per bumper parts $18.43 body labor $414.00 paint labor $257.00 paint supplies $117.60 misc. $135 grand total: drum roll please $999.19

Rental car for 3 days and has a spare truck? Sounds like extra pocket change... at least he didn't go through insurance so it isn't that bad of a deal, especially in the long run.
A shop could have a bumper repair in one morning and out the next day if they have a bake setup. I dont see the reason in leaving your car sit at a shop for longer than the amount of time required for the cleaning, prep, body work, prep, and paint/clear/cure. lets not nitpick... sucks what happened but i know if my perfect Z06 got hit i wouldn't want anything but a perfect repair. glad he found something cheaper... i say you just roll with it and put it in the past asap.
