Car is not being reported. The CV Half-Shaft is borked and I'm getting an estimate to have it fixed now.

Hell, if you buy the parts and do the work yourself, you'll come out even cheaper. ;)
I got into an accident 2 years ago with my old truck, my '92 Trooper that was a hand-me-down from my mom. Had only 105k miles on it, and was in excellent shape. It did get horrible gas mileage though. I made a stupid last-minute decision on my way to school one morning, and switched lanes. I checked, moved out, and then CRUNCH. I should've checked that second time. This kid decided to jet around the slow line of traffic in the right hand lane, and he had not yet made his move when I looked. I ended up putting a nice gash down the side of a '95 Grand Cherokee, and I crunched my right front fender pretty good, and knocked the alignment out. What sucked, is that the same fender had been repainted not even a year before because some stupid middle school girl rode off of the sidewalk without looking, luckily my mom swerved and missed running her over, but not before the girl slammed into the front fender on her bike, denting it, and also whipping back the antenna into the windshield and cracking the windshield. I ended up locating a fender off of a '94 Trooper in South Jersey, picking it up, and getting it painted, and installing it myself. You can't tell the difference unless you really go over it with a fine-tooth comb. Best part? I ended up paying less than my $500 deductable to get it fixed. First vehicles are for mistakes. Be glad you're not driving something more expensive, and also be glad it wasn't anything more serious.
