Eh, I think the officer was justified in what he did. He may have been a bit taser happy but the guy was being a deuche. When the cop went back up to the car the driver started telling the officer what the officer was going to do, HA. Sorry chief, thats not how it works. You don't make demands and you certainly do not dispute the ticket right there, that is what court is for. Then the guy disobeyed an order, he did not put his hands on the car and then acted like he was going to walk back to his car. Sorry dude, you got what you deserved. Had he jumped back into the car and began a high speed chase and somebody was killed I think people would be singing a different tune and would have been asking why DIDN'T that officer subdue him when he had the chance.

Well, you should not be a cop if:

1.) You can't stand it when people ask you questions and/or disagrees with you. No matter how stupid the question.

2.) You don't like dealing with assholes. 90% of people are assholes. As a cop you should be held to a higher standard even when someone is being an ass.

If you can not control your temper in these two situations you should not be a cop.

Also, since when did tazers become the first option? I always thought tazers were to be only used when police officers lives were in danger and they were under attack by something less than a gun?

**** I know a lot people who act like assholes that I would like to taze, but that still don't make it right.

Lawsuit city ahoy.

The point is this whole thing should have never gone this far. You issued the ticket to the guy, it's all caught on tape. If he doesn't sign it and doesn't pay or doesn't appear in court Sherrifs will pick him up then.

The officer should have let it go and forgot about the guy signing the ticket and went on his marry way.

That is just what I think.

quite incorrect... so the officer should say, "Well, this guy doesn't want to sign the ticket... alright, have a nice day buddy, la la la la"

No, its quite suspicious behavior for someone to refuse to sign for the ticket. I would fully suspect someone to be arrested and questioned if they refused to sign a ticket for whatever.

You're basically asking for police worldwide to take **** and deal with it.

A tazer is a non-lethal alternative to a gun. The flying probes also allow an officer to subdue a subject without getting into a physical altercation with them (IE: wrestling or fighting).

might have something to do with having grown up with a grandfather as an officer and an uncle who now is.

But what you guys are asking is ridiculous. They're paid to deal with assholes and put assholes in their place. Sometimes the cop turns into an asshole in order to do it. Sometimes the Doctor has to tell a patient they're dying and there is no way to save them, sometimes the Doctor is wrong.

I have such a problem with authority if the cop was a dick to me, god help me from doing something horrible. This weekend me and my friend got yelled at by a cop and then he proceeded to look through my friends car (looking through the windows, nothing past that) and i was pissed about that. God help me if a cop pulled a tazor gun on me...

everybody opinions are pretty valid so far.i kinda agree it went to far pretty quickly.i feel bad for police officer that have to deal with dbags like this everyday.i also felt bad for the wife having to deal with a gun to the face by the officer.it sucks when incidents like this go on for no reason.if you get pulled over just follow what the officer tells you.there is no reason to argue right there.just sign not guilty and wait for the court date.

exactly. And if you feel the officer was unprofessional you take it up with the precinct and file a lawsuit. If you take it up with the officer you're going to make yourself a threat and he has the ability to nullify that threat, whether it is to taze you, arrest you, or shoot you.

A tazer is far from a non-lethal alternative to a gun. There have been many people who have died from the effects, but nobody seems to know about that.

There is a law that says you need a warrant to search somebody's property unless you see something in plain sight, or the cop is in hot pursuit or you have the owner of the property's permission.

The officer can look into your windows without asking.

This Is On Msnbc Right Now

They said definitely a case. The wife also has a case for punitive damages. I only caught the very last of the discussion though.

Exactly it was plain view a cop could walk around a parking lot and look into every car window in the lot if he wanted to.

They can look but they aren't allowed to search. If they were walking by and they saw something its legal. If they are walking by and they shine a flash light in your **** and are looking around that is illegal.
