I think pretty much whats been said already is right. I know of someone's husband who got a one year contract with no benefits and about 6-7 days off for the whole year at about $17-$18 an hour. Supposedly you just have to show up and not miss work and you'll get strong consideration when it comes to getting a contract renewed. You can retire at age 36 with benefits being a gov. worker also.

if you really want to get a job in the usps i would go inb as a casual right now because they just started a new policy and even tho i am being transferred to bethelhem i will be making 19 an hour and have a job for the next 359 days and after that i receive full benefits. so just go to your local post office and see if they need casual carriers because you are going to make some seriously good money

casual means non union meaning if they dont need you for the day they will send you home which is nice sometimes because after working 6 days a weeks with sunday off is very nice when it happens

yea, i carried mail during the summers during college. it was my motivation to graduate. i sure as **** wouldn't want to do it for the rest of my life. carrying mail in the 100 degree heat just didn't cut it for me. and i sure wouldn't want to have to carry in the winter.

they actually wanted me to come back and apply for an associate supervisor position, but i don't want to do that, either.

if you are going to work in the post office, look into becoming a postal inspector. that is where the real money is.
