Definitely changing my mind about the 20g and thinking FP Green now with an 8cm. Not sure I want an EWG for my daily, unless it can be rerouted back into my Helix downpipe (which I doubt because Helix is junk).

I'm looking at a lot of money to do this right, this is going to take me awhile to save up for.

helix now makes an uppipe/downpipe combo thats prefabbed for ewg. i know people have been unhappy with the placement of the ewg when they try to dump it but apparently if you get both pipes and plumb it back in its supposed to fit well. they're quite cheap too... just a fyi if that helps speed up your plan .
and imo, if you're going to do an upgrade, you might as well do an upgrade... green or 30r are the way to go

Why didnt you go w/ the 44m wg. Seems to be a better fit especially if race gas will eventually be used

cuz its not making an ungodly amount of power to need the 44mm. Most people go with the 44 because of the vband. The fitment is perfect with the 38 kit. Its a matter of whos kit you get.

its the valve that matters when using race gas. not the size

yes the 44mm is better designed(valving) to be used w/ race gas. I just asked out of curiosity. Wasnt sure if you planned to use gas or eventually go bigger is all

its just a larger opening, the design is the same aside from the flanges.

its actually not entirely based on the size of the turbo and it doesnt have much to do with race gas either, its the size of the turbo vs. how low of boost you are trying to run. big turbos want to make a lot of boost when they start spinning, they flow a lot of air. if you have a big turbo and you want to make big boost, you dont need a very large wastegate to control the boost, and the same goes for a little turbo making little boost. the time you need a larger turbo is when you have a big turbo and you want to make little boost so you need a beefier wastegate to step in and control it. think more like honda guys who run GT35r turbos at like 12 psi... thats when you need a big ass wastegate to keep the boost from rising above that low max boost number.

I also forgot to add the the 44 doesnt use gaskets, which are prone to failure on race gas

But I just initially just looked at it from the upgrade standpoint. If your staying w the green and arent using gas then yes i agree the 38 is the better match no questions asked

agreed with Troll. Although its pretty damn pointless to run big turbos at such little psi. Kinda like owning a Ferrari and not really "drving" it.

the V44 comes with a valve that can handle race gas. the 38mm is optional.

I do like the V44 for the no gasket/ vband reason. But the damn thing is HUGE!! I just wish it was the size of the 38mm and cheaper :P
