Ok.. simple.. peer guardian works by installing a protocol into the tcpip stack that is used for filtering out specific ip address ranges.. those addresses include known anti p2p.. known spyware servers.. and known goverment servers..basicly those out to **** you.. if your bt tracker tells your bt client to connect to one of these ip's then it is blocked.. the blacklist is also updated by the maintainers of pg whenever they find a new batch of ips

as far as performance.. a lot of companies like (Ffffing comcast) limit your bt tracker usage and theres nothing you can really do about that besides tunneling the traffic through a encrypted tunnel like ssl via an ssh tunnel.. that requires a complicated setup and i cant help you with..

heres what you can do.. give your self a static ip adress behind your linksys router and make sure you FORWARD the listening ports that your bit torrent client use's to the specific ip address of the computer u will be downloading on.. if you dont forward them.. the listening feature cant work properly..

Trust me.. lets just say i have about 2 tb of storage

Norton antivirus sucks up just about as much resources as windows itself does, not to mention the virus/spyware scanner doesnt work worth crap. IF your lucky it'll tell you that your have a virus but normally the virus takes Norton down.

Norton corporate is ok, but deffinitly not what it used to be

McAfee just plain dosent work as a virus scanner. Whats with putting in a username and password to download updates? Ghey

Panda combines the flaws of Norton and McAfee into one great pos.

Sorry, I just hate commercial virus software. No way was I thinking you implied that they would block isps from monitoring bandwidth usage.

i agree with you there my windows box uses avg anti virus and spyware doctor.. the rest of my boxes run netbsd or linux god i hate microsoft..

however mcafee has a real nice command line virus scanner.. it has no real time protection but it works well if you need to run scans

Depends on your downloading habits!

I logged my computer all day today to see just who was connecting...I was amazed. Companies and educational institutes connected non-stop even while surfing the web! I recommend this to anyone who wants privacy online!
