Dude just get the 6cyl, much better engine and it's not THAT much more. You don't wanna be stuck with a slow 150whp car..

Most salesmen don't know technical stuff. Nissan is actually putting the CVT in the majority of their cars. From what I have heard Nissan CVT's are superior to most other companies. Having driven a Dodge Caliber with CVT, I can honeestly say that is true!

The Altima Coupe is a very nice car. If you are on a budget, the 4 cylinder is going to save you money. A 6-speed, V6, with leather is going to run you close (if not more then) $30K MSRP, depending on packages. I think the 4 cylinders can be had for low 20's. With the 4-cylinder, you also get a motor that has a tainted history within the Nissan community, which would be a deal breaker if I was in the same situation.

If you truly can afford it, go with the V6. If not, then hop on the Altima forums and keep an eye on problems with the QR25 in the new Altimas. The QR25 was in the B15 chassis for 4 model years and Nissan still could not fix all of the problems with it. Who knows, maybe more has changed in another two years.
