How about equipment operator? However, you don't get so much the human interaction. Truck driver, same thing. A car salesman? Sure, you have an office, but you can stay out on the lot all day. Realtor is the same thing, though now is a REALLY ****ty time to get in on that.

I think your best bet is to come up with a list of 20 jobs and narrow it down from there.

Go to monster jobs (I think yahoo has the same thing) and start picking the titles that sound cool.

i thought about the heavy equipment operator but i have not training in that area except for a few months on a back-ho. does anyone have any info for there union?

but anywho. are you trying to stay clear of an office type job? because there are plenty of thing you could do in a office setting that wouldnt be strenuous on your back. if you do have a history of back problems, getting in a hard labor career wouldnt be a good idea, imo.
