over 80k well maintained miles with ALOT of racing in between, somewhere around 200 1/4 passes total with most of them being 1.7 - 1.8 60's and not a single issue. anyone who says these cars are junk or they break easy either dosen't take care of theirs or doesn't know how to drive.

its all about how you maintain it. I change my fluids all the time and keep records of everything so I know what I did, when I did it and weather or not it worked well.

Good honest question. I’m curious about that myself. Would I purchase my own car if it were up for sale with over 75K? High mileage really doesn’t scare me when it comes to purchasing, lets say, a Honda (those thing last forever.) But I guess the fear would be not know how the owner treated the Evo… did they drive the piss out of it and ran high boost all the time? Hmm?

I'll find out the answer to this question soon enough. I plan on getting rid of the VIII to get a new car, maybe an X, towards the end of this year.

I'm sure the dealer will try and bend me over on a trade in so it will probably be a private party sale.

I will go out on a limb and say that an Evo with over or very close to 100k on it would sell anywhere from 15k to 18k depending on mods, whether or onot it's a dealership selling it, etc. etc. etc.

idk, just me know know when the time comes.

My 7 bolt has 108k and nothing has gone wrong.... YET. I'm sick of people talkin smack on 7 bolts too. If you take care of your car and stick to proper maintainence no problems.

Welll people buy high mileage cars all the time. I love mitsu's, its just the owners that dont take care of them that have problems all the time, or dont understand the car. Ive had the laser for 5 years now, it broke when i started to go nuts with it, but that was a machine shop flaw. Evos got basic mods for now, 30k on an 05 mr. 0 problems, stock clutch. They are a blast to drive

I just hit 80,000.

Time to start driving the Honda more often. I still drive the Evo too much. I'll try once a week... don't know if I can help myself though.

all three of my cars are well into six digit land and run like champs because of regular care. every day i see much newer cars that have a wheel or more in the grave because folks dont take the proper care of them

There is no hope for me. I really can't see myself getting a daily. My car is just too much fun.

I have a 05 mr close to the 70k mark, ank I abuse the heck of it every day in and out, the only thing that gets me down is clutch, original lasted les than a year now the ACT is dead, going to replase it this weekend,

the other is tires, I go tru a set every 6 mo!!

and brakes, pads and rotors,

but this are parts that goes fast in any car with this kind of power, I known of porches and ferraries that goes thru a set of pads in one day at the track! not mentioning tires are bald too

Go for the Exedy twin disk. You've probably heard this before but that clutch will take a beating over and over.

Oh, I didn't know you had the 6MT. The 4th and 6th are weak but I guess it all depends on how you drive/race your car. The funny thing about the twin disk tho is that since it's a cerimetalic (sp?) it shouldn't be comfortable for DD as much as an organic is but hundred if not thousands of evo owners can't be wrong.

Yes they are and lasted less than 10k's!!

that is why I'm not going to go with pricy tires

400 to 500 a set and that it!
