i think your just making assumptions at this point. Most of the people my company hires are people in that age range due to their years of experience. you dont see a lot of young people running pharma education companies, nor some kid fresh out of college beating out someone with 10+ years experience for a job.

Sweet the kind of great paying job that will help pay for your house and send your kids through college. From what I've read too they get really excited when you have to take the day off to go on an interview for a real job.

its a job with benefits nonetheless... its better than whining like a little girl and leeching off the government ... also dont forget about unemployment... that would also help...

uh yea they should? enough people drain our economy on unemployment and so forth. There are enough government plans out there to cover people who make under a certain amount to afford health insurance for themselves and their kids, for example C.H.I.P.S.

The point I am trying to make is that you shouldn't have to rely on some magical government plan to bail you out or everyones going to use and abuse it. There are enough plans and government aid out there besides cobra and saying we should have free health care is just stupid. why? because if you make it universal health care the good doctors, surgeons, and medical personnel will leave. why would they stay here with their expertise and get paid the same as any other medical personnel with half their credentials? whats great about our current medical system is that we have insurance to pay for us to allow us to go to these specialists and allow us to have these medical professionals from around the world, here, to treat us.

Im sure you can scrap up enough cash for one of these..

The whole going to school excuse doesnt fly with me. If you wanna goto school full time and slave at a crappy part-time then dont complain about not having insurance because its no ones fault but yours. Target, Walmart, and the rest of bigbox retailers all have overnight shifts that will include insurance if that will fit your busy schedule. If not then maybe you should drop enough classes for the time being to find a job where you can get benefits to ease yourself and quit your crying. Ive seen tons of people busting their asses at a job just for the benefits while they were in school. ****, my brother did it. I can't stand people who wanna take the easy road and leech off the goverment and people who got their **** together and pay taxes to fund this crap. You know who has a great insurance program. The Army. You wanna leech off the goverment, go enlist. The only one Im working for that gets free medical care is my own family. Not yours.

All you people who can't afford health insurance die already would you and save the rest of us the trouble of worrying about whether you deserve to live or not.
Question, when you were looking for a job to utilize your education why couldn't you still have a full time job? Just because you are a college graduate doesn't mean you HAVE to work in your field. When I graduated I worked full time at a retail store until I was able to find employment in my field of study. Same question for when you finished grad school. Even if you can't find a full time job, there are plenty of part time jobs available, get two.

I currently dont have insurance either...my work doesnt offer it and I dont work enough hours to be able to afford insurance on my own. Luckily, I would have other sources if anything ever happen.

However, I think its pretty...self centered of some of you not to want to think beyond yourselves. If it was a few dollars out of my paycheck each week to help someone who couldnt afford health insurance, I would do it. What if you couldn't afford insurance. I used to work at a parenting/health care office. Imagine you or your daughter got raped and your insurance didnt cover prenantal care or an abortion, (if you chose that route). Or your son had cancer and you couldnt afford treatments. Its not necessary the parents fault that they cant afford insurance.

I can see where most of you are coming from. Many people would, and do take advantage of "the system". However, I dont think that means that there shouldnt be one. I think that the entire health care system needs to be completely changed.

thats different, i am against universal free healthcare... there should definitely be special cases... i dunno its really a tough call... someone has to suffer and it might as well be the retards.

haha im sorry that sounds horrible but im a clear minded individual and i think i should be able to live and not have to pay for ANYONE elses stuff short of my family.

I completely understand, Jon. However, if you currently are paying for your health insurance...say Susies example of $77/week...what if it was more like $5/week since society would be contributing to the total fund? Wouldnt that be better for everyone?
