buying an xbox 360 today; game suggestions?

I had hitman, PGR3, and dead rising but none of them appealed to me. dead rising was fun for the first couple days but it got old quick, pgr3 was a ton of fun but forza was more fun and hitman drove me crazy

and i actually gave the elder scrolls away the day i bought it, i dont understand how anyone could enjoy that game it was total doodoo

X-box core/premium can run up to 1080i, X-box Elite can run 1080P. I haven't had significant experience to determine between the two, is P noticably better than I?

thats a miss-conception. 1080p CAN be displayed over vga/DVI. As long as your tv's vga/dvi input can display 1080P. I spent many hours reading about this. Agreed HDMI is the carrier of choice for HD. But it's not the sole carrier of the signal. Component cables can even carry 1080P, but, again, if that input on the display isn't a 1080p input it won't display that res.

r6v, forza2, and maybe check out some older xbox games... there really isnt much out there that gets me tho... a couple of the games that are coming out this year look good tho.

I would highly recommend Condemned. The game play isn't spectacular, but teh story line and environment will freak you the eff out. Play it in the dark with surround sound... I dare you.

+1, that was the first game I finished when I bought my 360 at launch. Easily one of the freakiest games I've played in years. Not because it's overly scary, but when I played it I would move with such caution so I could be ready for whatever might happen at ANY second lol.

yeah i had condemed but didnt play it much

word of advice, if you're ever taking oxycontin after surgery FOR **** SAKE DONT PLAY THAT GAME

i was taking a double dosage of oxy (20mg ever 4-7 hours) and decided to play condomed. my girlfriend stayed over that night and got freaked-the-****-out because i was awake chanting the litiny of the saints in latin and i guess telling her that sancte andrea ( saint andrew ) was in my room and not to be scared. of course 99% of that was just the fact that i'd been taking oxy for 2 weeks straight and spent about 18 hours a day sleeping and the rest of the time in some zombie like state not sure what was going on

oh believe me i hated every second of it and once the pain subsided enough that i could get by without the pills i flushed them down the toilete

i actually can't get it until monday, i ordered stuff on thursday with overnight shipping but it didn't ship until friday afternoon :/ it's at the sorting facility in philadelphia but says the delivary date is tomorow

i got;

360, not the elite but the next one down with the harddrive and stuff
1 extra wireless control
cooling fan ( my last xbox overheated a lot )
wireless microphone
rainbow six vegas ( cant wait )
forza 2 ( cant wait )
pre ordered halo 3

i think ill be set for now with those 2 games, i dont really see any recent releases that intrest me but there is a couple coming up that look good.. i might pick up gears of war if my girlfriends brother doesnt have it

ok couple things you need to know:
cooling fan - they have been known to actually cause the 360s to overheat because they end up drawing hot/warm air BACK into the system... mine has been fine with no extra fan and ive left it on for 36 hours at a stretch when boosting in r6v when in the old days

-wireless mic- has caused issues for some with echoing and background noise being heard on the other end... like in multiplayer in R6v...

and when you get on with r6v hit me up gamertag is "WoT CHAOS"... me and my boys can get you up to speed lol and pretty much have a good time doing it.
