What brand and from what I read yellow was not a symptom of pixel failure, it was either blue, green or red lines/dots, wierd

I think the problem that you are having is called "Light Leak," and I don't think it's fixable.

We'll find out Monday when the service tech comes out. I'll post up what it was along with the model number of the TV.

we have a 65" plasma here at work and we were testing it before installing it and we noticed a distortion in it, you could see that it wasn't rendering the image correctly. We returned it. basically like another person said. plasmas are very delicate and can get screwed up easily. I mean all we did was open this up, and put it on our work bench and hooked a progressive scan DVD to it and it didn't work right. def sucks. In my experience working with these things on a daily basis, panasonic's and NEC's are by far the most reliable.

as you stated samsung is good "for the money". but that doesn't mean they are good. sorry you are havign troubles and sorry I can't give you much more insight into it, we don't repair plasmas. we just sell and install them.

oh and once i get down doing my companies web site i'll be a proud new owner of a

My friend used to deal in tv's on a national level and he told me to stay away from plasmas for a while. I have a 51" hitachi projection hdtv and a 32 Lcd. I like hitachi cause they make most of the other guys parts. Samsung makes good stuff...every brand will have problems..the real difference is in how the manufacturer takes care of you. I would think samsung will take care of you on it.

yea i love samsung i have a syncmaster 17 lcd monitor for my desktop and i love it, from all of the problems ive heard about plasma i think im either gonna get and lcd, one of those projectors or dlp, just cause i like to play a lot of games and such so a plasma would be a very bad choice for me

Glad to hear it worked out...that is a prime example of the difference in companies...its not about the problem so much as how they handled it.
