Civic Si thats directly off of Honda's website...so a used WRX or even a new one aren't that far off from the price of a new Si which you said youcould afford

I considered the WRX, but like I said before I am looking for a 2dr NA car. Don't get me wrong I like WRX's, I just can't really afford a new one and I'll be honest it would be nice to have a brand new car.

Not to say I wouldn't be happy with a used/inexpensive car but there is something to be said about a brand new car with a full warranty.

I looked at a bunch of different euro cars most of them just for the hell of it, but mainly VW's and specifically a MKIV or MKV GTI.

My dad used to have a VR6 and I loved it and I love VW's and tons of other Euro cars, I just don't know if I can afford to mod one the way it should be modded (or the way I would want to) nor do I know if I could go euro in general. I love my Honda.

yeah mike, whats up with that intake. i didnt know that you became an engineer/custom fabricator overnight, usually takes a lot of schooling and experience. good luck with that.

When you drove the si, did you notice that there was kind of a hestistation when you hit the gas pedal? I only drove an si once through the lot of my old work (at an acura dealership), and thats what i really noticed. The type-s was always fun and easy to drive.

No I didn't notice a hesitation at all.

If you can find a 06 Type-S brand new still, then I say get it. I was fortunate to get mine with only 12 miles on it in October. I actually like the interior of the new SI. But the exterior is nasty...until you mod it. And if some way you are getting a subaru, go all out with the STI. I personally don't think you'll go 4-door, but i guess we will see. GL with what you go with and in the end, Hope your happy with it. Thats all that matters.

P.S. - This is a pretty sexy pic.

Thanks again for the input guys. I am hopefully going to another Honda dealer today or tomorrow0 that has a couple of used '06 Type S's and a few brand new Si's so this time I will actually be able to look at them side by side and take both of them out for test drive.

I think that will really help me make my decision, but we'll see.

Don't buy a new car. My last 3(before the wagon) were new and you wind up upside down monetarily of you decide you don't want the car in a year or two. Find a nice lower mileage version of either one. Maybe a demo.

new cars and there payments, while seemingly good now, will prolly haunt you for quite some time.

that said, if i had the chance to buy a new car in that price range it would be the Civic Si, and it would be the only FWD i ever want to own. I think they are gorgeous, and as you said, they drive nice as hell

not sure if someone stated this already but...
-if you get the civic i'd keep it stock until the warranties were up (this could be good or bad)
-new cars aren't worth the extra money IMHO

Well I went to two dealerships today. One to test drive a '06 RSX Type S again and then I went down the street from that dealer to a another Honda dealer to check out the new Si again and take that for another test drive.

I liked the RSX and thought it was pretty comfortable and drove/ handled pretty well (pretty much exactly how I already felt about it). I then went to the Honda dealer to check the Si out and drive it again. Honestly it was more comfortable, accelerated a little quicker with an extra person in the back and it would be my first brand new car.

Based on my two test drives of both cars and what I already new I decided on the New Si in Galaxy Grey Metallic with the full HFP under spoiler kit (full lip kit). It should be in my driveway by the end of the week!

And yes this is replacing my teg, sadly I will most likely be trading it in.

are you trading it in with or w/o the wheels? If they are going up for sale let me know. Good luck with the si!

If the car gets traded in which like I said will most likely end up happening (as much as I hate to say it), the Slipstreams will be put up for sale. They were on the car for under six months and only saw good weather. There is no camber wear and in general not much tire wear to begin with. I will post them up if and when everything is official.
