we don't ignore the UN there buddy, the UN sanctions countries that ignore THEM. And after a country is sanctioned 20 times or more, shouldn't someone step in?

Think about it...the UN doesn't have an army and the UN has NO WAY to enforce their sanctions. We do make our own rules, and whats wrong with that?

on the subject of the UN, it is basically a joke, this is basic 101 politics. The UN only serves bureaucratic purposes and only works if EVERYONE in it follows its rules. Being that their is not a UN military to enforce those rules, someone has to do it. The US is a hegemony and one of the only nations willing to enforce the serious laws and rules set out by both morals and the UN government. The US is one of the P5 of the UN, meaning nothing gets done or approved without our vote. We are the UN, and since most ppl dont have any knowledge of how the UN works, out of the five nations in charge of the UN, only the French did not support what we were doing, and Great Britain went in with us.

REALISM, look it up, the world is anarchic and no groups like the UN can exist without nations like us doing what we do to allow them to exist.

There are just so many possibilities its not even funny.

1. The middle east becomes involved in a regional conflict of Shiites vs Sunni just ike it going on in Iraq with Iran on one side(shiite) and Syria on the other(Sunni).

2. Isreal uses the Iraq air space we cleared and bombs Iran's nuke sites. Iran, using the Russian aircraft will shoot down atleast one of the jets and persue them into Iraqi airspace, we shoot them down. Enter US-Iran air war.

3. Same scenario but instead of just an air war all of middle east condems Isreals attack and they go back to war with lebanon but this time Iran and Syria join the fight. Eventually, this joining of forces will lead to a civil war because of the power vacuum that will be left in Isreal and which majority party in Palestine should rule it.

4. China, Japan develops a military again, this provokes North Korea to do more test firing of missles over japan as a show of "strength", Japan uses our missle defense system to shoot it down, then send their own missles into North Korea to knock out the launch sites. China jumps in on NK side, South Korea and the US jump in on japans side, Russia joins China, Europe joins USA, Muslims join Russia, Venezuela and Cuba attempt to attack America while we are off fighting in the far east and its ust one giant cluster****.

5. Same scenario but nuclear weapons are exchanged, we suffer the least damage since we have the most developed missle defense shield but in the end it doesnt mater because of the nuclear winter we all are screwed anyway.

What a wonderful world we live in. The way I see it one of the best ways to avert many of these scenarios is to simply get off oil and natural gas. This lessens our exposure to outside forces and also we stop sending bilions of dollars to the middle east and other potential adversaries who are getting rich off us.

Israel is planning on bombing Nuclear facilities in Iran, and has permission form the UN and surrounding countries. We (the US) are not supporting this, however, in order for Israel to bomb Iran they have to pass through Iraq.

I dont think they have UN permission, Russia outright said there is not enough being done to avoid war with Iran, and their permission is required for the UN to give permission for anything.

Israel has a badass Air Force, and is speculated to have nuclear power, they can do a lot more damage then most ppl think.

When it comes down to it this is just a political move. If Isreal was really going to bomb them they wouldnt be asking for permission, they would just do it like they did to the Iraq reactors. They are just putting it out there as a way to force Amidinijhad to put up or shut up. He keeps running his mouth about wiping Isreal off rhe face of the earth meanwhile his people are suffering. this will put more emphasis on Iran because the world doesnt want a potential full scale mid east war. Iranians will suffer more and eventually will overthrow the government or atleast Khomaini will declare his term over and a new president will be elected.

The Iranian president has a lot of support within his state, the entire place is full of radical Muslims bred and raised to hate white christians and jews. They would rather suffer then appease to us, and that will make the next few months or years interesting as these events unfold
