I was just kidding about notepad. Yes use every tool possible to get the work done more efficiently. The biggest thing to remember is that it is a tool, not a crutch. You will eventually have to learn what the code does to troubleshoot at one point in your life.
I work with many "developers" that make alot of money but can't get past using frontpage. When they find out frontpage is pretty much dead they all get nervous.

Man...html typers mus hate that others can make websites without them. My friend does it by code. He did a website for a freind of mine and it took forever. I could have done it in a day or two. I can't see how you can argue to do it this way.

Dreamweaver does have a code view, it's the only view I use. I don't touch the design view. But I work with PHP, perl, CSS and MySQL all day (i'm a website & web application developer). Dreamweave has a lot of nice things about it. I'm a fan of the Site/FTP upload function. I just link the site i'm working on to our server and then just put the files up through dreamweaver rather than using an sftp program.

Well html is cool and all, but its old news. No major companies or professional web designers use it anymore.

The new standards are php, xml, and xhtml for basic stuff. Buy some books and read them through. I have a few at home that I can reccomend. I will post the titles when I get home.

Its more important to understand why stuff works than how to make it work by copy/paste.
