Well, highmilehatch. Now that you say U.S. drift scene I do agree with you that it is basically a fad, especially to most people that just got exposed to it. I guess the only ones that are truly into the sport are the ones who will keep doing it after it stops being popular and everyone jumps onto the next big thing. But yeah, the sport is getting milked for all its worth, even in Japan. I just hope there are more grassroots events because getting into Formula D is a retarded process where in some cases it's the people who know the judges or have a huge sponsorhip get in and for others it's very hard. My friend Chelsea Denofa (black/lime green Rota miata) qualified at the LA qualifier but later found out that he got disqualified for doing a small burnout when he ran against the silver 350z. And trust me, it was literally a tiny burnout in the beggining of his tandem run. I saw the video of it and it is truly sad that they dq someone for that.
Sorry, I'm just rambling on.

not bad but try to get more speed when going into the turn...at ur speed it starts to slow down early and you have to even out earlier.

I know alot of people thing this was a fad and but the funny thing was before the movie came out we had alot of fun doing these drifting demo in the parking lots of a few place in philly and we would gets cheers from everyone because they thought it was cool....Me and DN_Sileighty and the rest of the team would have a blast out there because there was so much space BUT after the movie came out the once cool drift team became wannabes...why they labled us that ...the world may never know.....So we decided to move to a different place that maybe we could stay away from trouble...that spot that we have fun at is the only place right now that we know of that we can drift and burn out all day AND NOBODY CARES NOT EVEN THE COPS.....yes we which we could do the stuff in a better lot but we make do with what we got...little but litte we are clean up the old parking lot and it is getting better.....we only which we would have video tape that stuff we did in the beginng of that summer in south philly and NE but we didn't have a camera... but FYI we have been doing this for years ..Formula D is like what 3 4 years old...DRifting is like 15 to 20 years old...the Formula D proam won't start till i think next year but thats in the west not east (i could be wrong)......and the funny thing is i first saw drifting while watching EVOs in rally... drifting around cornors ...but the EVOs i meet now a days are the one that think difting is a waste....so remeber to all evo and subys telling us drifting is lame and dumb is just wrong...because its not like we tell you guys to piss off and go RALLY....

I agree with your POV,
But tell most suby and evo owners to go rally and you might find that most won't get their cars dirty

Well they drift in rally cause that's the fastest way to go on dirt. But there is something fun about going sideways. Hell I do it in my saab when I can and that's FWD.

More powersliding... but same difference... they don't quite get as large of a slip angle either, but its all similar in terms of how the car is controlled

But for your viewing pleasure(and a quick thread hi jack), here is gigi galli in an evo6.5... first time I saw this I was speechless

That last video was awesome, the first one was not. You were driving around in a dirt covered lot, understeering most of the time. Why don't you guys come to real events and try doing this stuff for real and not in some little abandon lot.

But these stupid arguments always come up when people post stupid videos of themselves trying to act cool in a parking lot. I just don't see why you guys don't come to any events and do this with other people. Are you scared you can't handle it or are there other excuses that you tell people?

yo bro practice that mouthing out engineering somewhere else...you are exaclty the type of guy that i would race in the touge uo in the poconoes,,the type that RIDES HARD and CRASHES HARDER!! Nobody is scared but i bet any amount of money that 2 turns in the touge (where true drifting happens) you would schart your pants with every turn and in complete fear that you might slam in to a guard rail...i built my first s13 because of WIISASS like you that would put money thinking that a City Slicker like me wouldn't beat them....yeah yeah i know you from Yarley and you have touge area ..yeah whatever...

Those are some harsh words I know there are great roads around here, I have never seen either of you drive but the area doesn't make you a good driver my friend. why don't you come to an event and quit that parking lot sissy crap. Any fool can say they drive hard on the street, I know a lot of people and have never heard of your "team" except for seeing a bunch of weak cars.

relax bro it was just a sarcastic way of being a wiisass to WIISASS....fact of the matter is video is what it is..but don't rag on people about there videos that just discouraging..i see plenty i video that are really bad....but hey they are trying and thats is what it all about. learning it the key to being a good racer, drifter, etc....it like when the whole STREETBALL THING HIT,,it was big but anytime i saw a kid try something i wouldn't down him i would help him cuz back it high school i was good at that stuff....same thing i meet alot of drifter is the past and i never meet anyone who would rather rag on someone other then help someone in there technique. yeah we have a team but we ain't ****y about it we are easy to get along with and love seeing car drift....if this is a crime i am guilty as charged

Mike, there's a good chance you've seen me drive if you've been at any of the club loose stuff. I've been the e-town stuff since the beginning whenever I was at home.

Billy Crystal, if you post a video, expect criticism. I'm not discouraging you, I'm telling you to come to events and do this stuff for real. I may have been a little harsh, but you were acting like you guys are awesome, but only drive in abandoned lots or do a burnout in front of some high school kids waiting for a movie. And people can't help you with your technique if you don't come to events. We have instructors and a lot of people willing to help if you come to the events willing to learn.

Is that your 240 in your avatar? if so, it's sick.

I want to drift the subaru, give me a R200 with custom rear axles, welded center diff, and a 275/30/18 in the rear and ill be ready to tear up the parking lots.

It appears he doesn't even have an LSD, or if he does, it' wore out. My stock as KA powered S14 with just a 1.5 way did better parking lot donuts than that thing is doing with turbo power!

Because thats not the JDM TYTE driftor way dude! I have NEVER seen any S chassis car 'drifter' kids ever at a track day. To be honest, there are only about 4 S chassis cars in general that I've ever seen at a track event (Myself, Jim Shumachers Black Zenki, Steve's Red S13, and Rory's Blue S13 coupe). I'm not saying there aren't more, it's just that I've never seen them...

Um, please tell me what road you 'touge' on in my neck of the woods so I can stay the hell of of them. Real smart to be doing that now...cold roads+decent hp = unpredictable driving.

I drive the **** out of mine on some backroads around my house, but know my street limits....you seriously can't be fast on backroads and be safe at the same time. To feed my thirst for me, I actually go out and do track days with PDA/NASA, and actually push my car to my drivin abilities limits

Werd. I think my old truck with an air locker could pull off a better parking lot show than that 'drift' car.
