You left out the part where you start hanging out on street corners, sucking d**k to support your newly acquired drug habbit.

j/k I really hope you're able to get the cop to reduce the charge. One thing you might want to consider is talking to an attorney. They (lawyers local to that area) may know the cop, and be able to bargain for you. They may also know about other things like drivers school to reduce penalties even further. It's certainly worth a couple phone calls.

That is not true! Unless you're a student living off campus or in the military, the car must be registered in the state that is your primary residence. In fact I can tell you this.....I had bought a 300ZX Turbo from Delaware when I lived in Collingswood NJ. The Collingswood PD knocked on my door and let me know that in NJ I had 30 days to register and insure the car in NJ. I still think you should get a lawyer. Anytime your faced with potential lose of license you should retain a lawyer....it's good advice. Take it or leave it.

DLC (drivers license compact) reads that only serious offenses are transferred between states and give you points. those offenses include killing someone with your car, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and one other thing i always forget. that being said if you got it not in a state that you have your license in you could just pay the ticket and it might show up on your record but it'll just show up as speeding.

i know that because i got pulled over at 95 in a 65 on the PA turnpike and i have an MD license. the offence shows up on my md record but only says "Speeding - PA" nothing more.

this is my first offense too---I am in newark and work in loss prevention--pretty closely with the dover PD down in dover, but my peers work with the DSP pretty tightly--- I mean if the court date isnt till november I am sure I can make my own connections by then, but just having that immediate in cant be beat--- it was a long shot but i figured I would try...Hopefully PBJ will work out for me

hmmm dover eh? i was just there a couple hours ago. might have to try and catch up with a bunch of you people. sorry for the offtopicness lol

usually if you're real honest and just tell the judge straight up and tis your first offense you get off pretty good so don't sweat it too much. i've learned theres no real point in getting worked up and stressing. just gotta go with the flow, as cliche as that is.

how old are you? if you under 21...bring a parent, and make sure the judge knows that the money for the ticket is coming out of your pocket, that always helps

I STAY going to court..I'll give you some pointers..
Plead not guilty, you have nothing to lose, and 9 out of 10 times you will get a plea no matter what the scenerio. It does not matter if the officer does not show until you get to court of common pleas.HE can have another officer serve as P.A. on his behalf.
What is the ticket for, reckless, careless, speeding?? Just because it has a speed written does not mean it is a speeding ticket..My advice would be find out exactly how many points you have, then take any plea that will keep you from being suspended. If you lose in court the first time, appeal it for 30 bux and try again, and again. Eventually you will get some type of plea bargain..

Good deal.....you'll be glad you did. Best thing is to try and find a lawyer who commonly defends tickets in that court house.....if he's already chummy with the Prosecuter or the judge you'll get a better deal.

I got pulled over on 95 coming home from Newark at upwards of 90. To quote the police officer. I saw him coming up in my rearview a good 1000 feet before he even had his lights on. I was like I'm ****ed put on my 4 ways and pulled myself over all the way to a safe spot. HE gave me the you know how fast speech. I ended every sentence in yes sir, no sir, no excuse sir. He then looked at my backseat and asked what was in the boxs. I said headers sir, He said so you can go faster??? He came back and gave me a ticket for 1311 failure to obey a posted sign. 115 ticket no points. And the slow the f down speech. Doesn't hurt to keep the rosary in the car.....

It prob didn't help your cause if your in a caged gutted civic. There is only one thing to do with that car and its race. What does it run if you don't mind me asking? Best of luck maybe you can cut a deal.

i can give you some advice... you cant do 1 of 2 things. Find your cell phone billa nd if you have a call within an hour of the written time on the ticket you can bring it in and get the ticket knocked down to a cell phone infraction. Worse comes to worse take what they call unsafe driving. Its a bigger fine but no points. Its something like 250 plus 150 plus court fees. Best bet is the cell phone though since its cheaper. Dont worry i have done worse and gotten out of it... good luck and pm me if you have any questions. You dont need a lawyer to do this so youll save money. He'll end up doing what i told oyu anyway and charging you for it.
