It's one of the best cars ever conceived in it's price range. Props to DCX and PVO (SRT) for having the brains and balls to build and sell something so cool.... THEN DEVELOPE STAGED UPGRADES FOR IT!

The downside is that ricers can now afford a much faster car than they could before. Essentially raising the bar for those of us that build our own stuff. So I don't wholely disagree with that list. A LOT of SRT owners are morons. Personally, I've found the only really worthy SRT4 owners are the guys that used to own the old school turbo dodges. They actually appreciate and understand the car.
cant say i ever owned an oldschool turbo dodge, but then again i never owned a car from the 80's so it would have been hard. actually was looking at an 89 turbo lebaron once but i needed to buy somethin that day and the turbo baron wasnt ready to sell(needed a battery and crap). so i ended up with a v6 one(which was my second lebaron and the car i later traded for the srt-4)

i'd like to think im "worthy" nonetheless. i drive the srt about 2 times a month and pretty much drive like a grandmom compared to a lot of other douches on the road(who drive EVERYTHING, i might add). oh and im not a 16 year old trying to race everything with a wing bolted on it

now if we want to talk about people who dont deserve what they're driving, i'd be quicker to point the finger at 19-20 yr olds driving 35-40,000 dollar cars that they obviously had no hand in buying(read: paying for).

Anybody who was looking at buying a turbo lebaron fits into the TD group. It's the former ricers that seem to be trouble. Their faux sense of confidence and willingness to battle with everything on the road makes them "douchebags".

When you are driving a neon there is no room for a hardassed attitude. The SRT4 bleeds "fun". If you can't smile and nod respectfully or laugh it off when a 500hp vette goes ballistic all over your ass, you shouldn't be driving an SRT4.

And the same goes to all those who encounter the car. Don't be butthurt if a silly little neon has something up it's sleeve. Appreciate the car. Congradulate the owner. Do something other than spew the line "It's still just a neon".

yeah i hear you,.. seems after '03 when the car came out, won a ton of awards and great reviews from most sites and publications, a lot of ricers finally realized for the price you cant beat it, and jumped on the bandwagon, a little in 04, and in droves in 05.. and it only got worse now that a lot of original owners are selling them.

personally i think its funny when people come out with the "its still a neon". you know, a neon, as opposed to a civic, a lancer, or an impreza. wow, what an insult. we dont even need to get into the fact that the Neon was ALWAYS a great performer. obviously the first gens weren't any type of speed demons but still a tad faster than the staple civic, and killers on the autocross course, especially the ACR's. ..but all in all i do agree that theres a lot of kids driving these cars who dont appreciate the power(and responsibility) that comes with it. i guess the "douchebag" status of the car is either due to the inherently low price or the fact that people just still dont believe that a neon is capable of being quick.(im guessing the latter, since the evo and sti were also on the list, and neither of them really suffer from accessibility to irresponsible buyers like the srt does)

*sigh*

Well, that wasn't well written, not very funny, repetitive, and excluded all SUV's.

I'm sure that person is a real wiz with the english language...and he is so well informed.
