you would want to stay away from a D series if you looking for about 160hp.dynoed tuned z6's are about 96 hp. you going to want to do a b16 which you are not going to see 160hp at the wheels, or a gsr. with a gsr you will be about that at the wheels. give of take a few hp. also when doing a gsr its best that you convert the car to obd-1. you are able to run the car in obd-0 but the pr3 and pw0 and not great ecu's to run with a gsr esp. if you are plaining on running stock intake mainfoild(IAB).this swap is a little more involved than most deping on which model he has. if he has the dpfi theres more wiring that will have to be done and if he has the mpfi it is a little easier.
