Galaxy S3 for Tmobile is what i was using so i guess thats what the model code for it is lol and i was replying to where you quoted my post and said "you yourself have been involved in" is all.

my only point is that everyone learns from their mistakes, very few from the mistakes of others. OP probably will not be going 98 in a 65 again, so lesson is learned. He prolly feels like chit already and regrets his decision, so telling him again doesnt really help the situation and isnt what he asked for. I mean, if that were to better anything, we wouldnt have sped in the first place because we were all told every time we pass a speed limit sign not to go faster than that. So i was merely stating that your post didnt help the situation and he was moreso asking for legal advice.

Yea, there is a **** load of people on the road on I95 near Lansdale area on a Sunday night at 2am. Yup **** happens. Everyone moves on. Now I know why these ask the police type threads are limited to actual LEO's, or the OP only. Making assumptions about conditions or anything else is just as dumb as previous decisions we have made and are posting about as requested by the OP. I don't see anyone making excuses for anything either.

OP asked for similar situations since he is "more interested in previous personal experiences". What the point of ranting in a thread like this?

My first ticket ever was for doing 100 on 95. I was at the Bucks County magistrate. I ended up paying around $400 for the ticket and $450 for my lawyer, who didn't do anything. I was 17 at the time and while I paid for my car my mom paid for my insurance, so I wanted to take care of everything without her knowing.

At court the judge rallied up everyone who the one trooper ticketed. He then asked everyone from NJ to stand up. He gave us a 0 point violation, but I never got refunded for the difference in the charges. Everyone in PA got some other charge that had 2 points. Like I said, my lawyer didn't do anything.

People in NJ go 90 mph on 295 every day. It's not a big deal. If you speed then just know that there are consequences if you get caught. That's all.

I'm a cop. You are lucky. I would've wrote you careless or reckless driving on top of the speeding. I don't give breaks to anybody exceeding over 25 mph the limit. I mean let's be honest...you do deserve it. Slow down and be super apologetic in court.

I think your taking this personally man. My only point was to give folks a heads up. Learning from your mistakes is one thing, but not at the cost of ruining your life in the process. I don't want to read another story of some poor kid splattered all over the highway, that's why I said what I said.

I got busted for going over 170mph in I-5 out in Cali a few years back. I thought for sure my car was going to be crushed and be put in jail. The cop cursed me out and when he found out I was in the military, he told me to get the hell out of his sight.

I'd invest in a good lawyer that knows this type of thing. I find it freaking unimaginable what a great lawyer can get people out of-

It's interesting, most lawyers get you off easy because they know the prosecutor or owes them a favor. It's not how well they know the law in most cases. If your going that route (I wouldnt waste $3000 personally) find a lawyer that is local and knows the judge and the da.

To add to this...I've been told by friends that are cops that when a lawyer shows up to a case many times it completely changes the outcome. Cops arn't lawyers and arn't experts on the law. If they screw up the smallest detail during the process the case can be thrown out.

It's hard to screw up a speed trap when they are using radar which is extremely accurate. It's not a timing device.

Why because he is doing his job?

At what point does ANYONE Need to be going 25 Over the speed limit? If your in THAT much of a rush, you should have left a little earlier to get where you wanted to go.

I would expect to get bent over by the cops if I'm caught doing that much over the speed limit. I've been well past 140 on my bike...And over 100 in the Genesis...Time and Place though....And some of us are luckier than others and just dont get caught when we drive like idiots. Eventually it will catch up to you.

I drive to work down route 70 everyday and pass multiple state troopers and local police and the speed limit is 55...I have my cruise set to 63 every morning and they dont even Bat an eye at me...If I tried to get greedy and push it to 70 like most people who blow by me are doing, Its those guys I see pulled over a couple miles down the road.

Get a lawyer, plead stupidity, apologize profusely, wear a suit, apologize some more.
Staties ain't know for being lenient, as they see the results of high speed crashes alot more than local PD's, and they want to make sure you don't become one of those statistics. Plus the paperwork is a bitch.
Not much more you can do than this. Learn from it, if you still insist on going overtly fast on the highway, get a radar detector.
But consider this, even though you may feel "safe" doing thirty-plus above the speed limit, your car becomes a very destructive bowling ball if you loose control, which is much easier to do than most people think. The legal, medical, and personal damages can be huge.
Don't think I'm being preachy, I'm pretty sure I've broken every moving vehicle violation in the book, and I was lucky that nothing catastrophic ever happened.
Don't be a statistic, if you want to go fast, go to the track.

And you're a dick for doing your job as well.

When I was young and dumb, I was caught going 34 mph heading to PSU on the turnpike. I was given 4 points and 180 some odd points. I tried the court deal, drove 2 hours to it. They didn't cut me a single break. I finally cleared the points off my license and kept it clean since minus a few minor things here and there. I learned it isn't worth the hassle with insurance and jobs. I lost my job for having points, and thankfully, my current boss is my father-in-law and can still drive a company truck.

Good luck with your case though!
