Mods and Warranties are counterproductive. You should figure out which ONE is more important to you and stick with it.

Kinda jealous, this would be the perfect dd for me. Personally, I'd just leave it be and enjoy it as is, ESP. With the warranty

I have paperwork for the oil change, inspection (good until 11/13), it just got new tires and brake rotors and pads too. They gave me 2 free oil changes and a free inspection.

Mods and warranties don't cancel each other auto automatically. Bags will NOT void a warranty. They will void the suspension warranty and perhaps anything associated with it, IF it is proven that the bags caused the issue. There are new laws (as of last year) that make it illegal for dealers to automatically assume an aftermarket part caused a failure. Just last year, I had the Infiniti serviced under warranty (bagged and modded) without issues.

With that being said, enjoy the car. Hope you have better luck with this one, Mike.

I'm thinkin more about waterpump, coolant flange, oil cooler o-ring, timing belt/serp belt, tensioner, and a basic 40k service.

As I was about to call bull****, I found something online. Looks like they had some surplus GTIs and sold them as 2006 models. The MKV is apparently a 2006.5

Car has an unknown service history.
I'd knock out the 40k service first and then check for warning signs of others things.

I thought the car was past 60k mark when I initially read the first post.

Yes, you're correct. I always forget that the mkv Jetta was released a year before and ran a year later then the GTIs. I apologize.

The 40k service isnt much at all, probably wanna do plugs/fluids/filters, all that good stuff. Your water pump WILL fail somewhere around 60k unless you have awesome luck, but pushing a water pump that is known to fail is a silly thing to do.

i think that law is called, "Chris is huge and intimidating so lets just service this thing"

OP, whats wrong with the charger and why arent you having it repaired? I've seen it around here and there. This is like a total flip flop of cars.
