We lost power for 4 days and had three trees land on our house. We got lucky as hell, 2 trees landed on another tree which slowed them down before they hit the house, so the damage is only to the roof. They would have cut to the bottom of the 2nd floor if that didn't happen.

Those NJ photos are astonishing, seems like just about everything down there is a total loss.

I'm heading down to LBI tomorrow with a truck full of donations. I know its late notice, but if anyone has anything they are willing to aid with please get at me asap. I'm in Levittown and my Sister is in Ewing accepting donations.

They could really use some meat to eat and space heaters to keep our first responders and displaced residents somewhat warm and full.

My family literally just removed everything from my Grands first floor. From the rugs to the fridge, couch, and bed. Everything is going in the trash. Drywall and insulation is next-- We don't have it that bad tho, things could have been much, much, worse.

Just got back from Beach Haven and it looks like nuclear fallout. There is so much trash on the curb, machinery collecting and sorting in Acme's parking lot. Idiots asking if the **** we're trashing is salvageable... GTFOH, I wanna shoot some people.

I'm a little pissed at LBITownship. I still can't comprehend why store owners we're allowed down sooner to salvage what they could.... ITS FaCKIN OFF SEASON. What about the residents... Oh let the mold fester and water soak. I hope this place is salvageable... my family is so besides themselves, like where do we start. My grandparents are religious people, if you could say a prayer, I know they would appreciate it.

pics dont do it justice. I kinda wanna post a video of the house, but at the same time I can't eat or sleep because of it. I didn't even bother checking the bay or beach, or even trying to get down into Holgate or up to Barney.

There's something for seeing a 40' yacht sitting lopsided on the ground with another 30footer next to it in the same fashion. And a waterline at 3 foot throughout the whole first floor.

my coworker is a chopper pilot and was hired by a guy to fly him from west chester, pa to the NJ coast to check on his house. the pictures he showed us at work are just insane

This house has been in our family for about a hundred years (rebuilt a twice)... I'm not sure we are moving until they buy us out and turn it into lower long island state park. Last time we saw water in the house was '92 I believe, this is the most ever.

I'm gonna make a plea for donations. My Sister, her neighbor and I have been making runs down to LBI and Manahawkin on the weekends to try and help out those who lost it all. It's getting cold and many are without heat, and the water is not drinkable yet. Schools we're also flooded so they could use new materials and toys for the kids who started back at school yesterday. As you can see from the pics above we lost everything, but we have a great family. Other's sadly do not, and are praying for us strangers to lend a hand.

Even if you could donate your time and effort in a community that was devastated. Some towns are still under a few feet of sand, others had houses that got swamped and need help salvaging what they can.

We all enjoy the shore come summer. Please do not forget about the residents that make your summer at the shore so enjoyable. Let's try and get these people back to whatever normal will eb as soon as possible. If anyone needs info or a place to drop anything off please email me onthegoed (at) gmail (dot) com- My Sis lives in Ewing, myself in Levittown. I'm all over South Jersey daily so I'm sure we can get your donations to the people that need them.

Please lets not wait on FEMA to slowly cut checks or the Red Cross to handle it our.

There is also a bunch of people and sites selling things like decals and shirts that send the profits down to help people in need, I know that decalbin.com ran by a TST member is selling decals for it and a place called RestoretheShore as well as plenty of facebook links

Listening to news reports it sounds like Toms River and surrounding area's nearby need tons of help. Seaside supposedly lost the entire boardwalk...
