**Subscribed.**

If there are multiple dates this summer and fall, I’m sure I can get out to one of the track events. Never been on a track so this would be totally different.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to do May.

Guys, post up when there are events.

I know the corvair club usually has a track day at Pocono, which is about $100-$120 for a full day.

I race through Viper days we race once a month. and then we do some other events on our own like bwm and porsch and ferrari events inbetween the viperday events.

The great thing about the viperday events is that if you crash or break something anywhere else you go home, here there is a full professional race team there to fix or setup your car any way you want, specializing in viper and SRT-4, you can also rent a full race srt or viper and be fullysupported by them if your do not wanna race your car. also there is a huge full rig tire truck, your can mount, dissmount, buy, and throw away tires. they sell anything from slicks to street tires on the spot.

its a THREE day event with banquets, auctions and awards. every car get a lap timer put in to monitor your progress. there is a driving school there to teach you the proper line and what to do in certain situation; you will be awarded a certificate after completeing the driver school the is an insurance deductable. there are tons of driving instructors.
you cant bee them.

Thanks for posting this.

The Michelin Challenge Series looks to be an attractive event since I’m a new driver. Seems like a good first time event for newbies.

What type of events (time attack, etc.) have you competed in? What would you recommend?

i would recomend the viperdays at VIR or Putnum (very safe track) but enrole your self in the young driver program, now you may not be young but it teaches you defensive drivin and how to controle the car better in situations. and you will get more track time than you know what to do with.

VIR is kinda far... it might be easier to look into doing an event closer to the Tristate region such as Pocono, limerock, summit point, The Glen. Viperdays also look expensive, it might be easier to run with NASA, PDA or SCCA. These are some links to alternative clubs.

SCCA HPDE days
NASA HPDE days
PDA HPDE events
