i didn't take it personally, and there's nothing wrong about what you're doing. i also didn't direct my post at you as well. spreading awareness is a nice contribution to the cause. i can just understand what "itwillboost" is saying because if you asked half the people that are obsessing about it right now, they won't remember about it a month from now.

you clearly didn't read the second part of my response so i enlarged it for you to read this time around. if you need me to add pop-up pictures to catch your attention i can. (yes, that was a joke. me so funny) part a is what we're talking about. part b is what you're talking about. if boost was acting like someone would in part b, then yes your metaphor would fit correctly. your metaphor was obvious, as there was no need to explain it in detail. the fact you felt the need to is beyond me.

edit: i swapped a and b by accident. view i'm taking is part b. you're analogy isn't similar to my part b, therefore analogy cannot apply.

Lol. My English comprehension is better than yours, buddy.

"You sound like such a pretentious hipster making fun of someone who just started listening to some once-upon-a-time obscure band that just went semi mainstream."

Your "part a" is applicable to my analogy. He is criticizing people who are jumping on the bandwagon and will not care in a few months when it's not trending anymore. My analogy is of a pretentious music goer who criticizes a new listener because they started liking the band once it went mainstream (aka, jumping on the bandwagon). If you still disagree then you can PM me and tell me why.

well its 5 for 25 and I figured it would draw more of a crowd and your supposed to post them around town or work place and such but I figure it'd be some cool memorabilia for the meet and the cause, kinda of like the 70's make love not war posters

Thank you. That's my point. Anyone who wants to show support and make a difference should, but people who are just buying shirts or "supporting" it online because their friends do, honestly does get kind of annoying but that isn't the main reason for my statements.

Don't put people down for learning something new. If anything you should be happy that there is more awareness for what's going on in the world because our media sure isn't informing anyone about it.
I think it's great people learn, but what do you really learn when you hear about something throw up facebook statuses and than forget about it by next week. This is not the first time that people have talked about it, it's just the first time it has been all over facebook. Unforunately the world we live in is not a fair, nice place. If people want to be really active or learn I think that's great and they should.

I think it's good the OP wants to do something about it, but the best thing you can do is educate others, don't worry about money. Instead focus on why it happens and how you can prevent it. Knowledge is power, we should worry more about spreading that and less about donating to a cause most will not understand. I don't really understand why I am a hipster, I just feel I am educated on the subject.

This all reminds me of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which few ever understood now or then. Has a movement that spents over a year before people caught wind and most of it was done away from the media attention. People were going to the events by the end just to do something or because their friends were. Not to support a cause, because they didn't even understand the cause. If the had put that time into something useful the result could have benefited alot more.

Look as far as I'm concerned this kony stuff is just the next thing for people to post about on twitter Facebook and whatever else so they look socially concious, if you honestly cared about things like this you would already know about the most notorious war criminal in the world. Kony 2012 bring awareness to this man until the next thing happens and everyone floods their social media with that cause for the week, I'm tired of people acting like they care and posting about it so they don't feel left out. People new to realize the only reason you don't know about this stuff is because you're American.

The money is being used to rebuild schools and buy technology for their military and children. No one has to donate but it would be nice.

Yeah even being the OP I find that shady maybe we could find a better charity to donate the money too but raising awareness about the man is something that needs to be done

A car meet to raise awareness for something that has been going on for decades now. To be honest its a poor excuse to have a "car meet". You know and I know there wont be any talking, about this genocide. Want to make a difference, talk to your local politician.

Couldn't you say this about any charity car meet? Or 90% of any charity events for that matter...
