Yeah, 240 as a daily sucks. I daily about 5 miles on a normal day, and I still don't like to use my SR'd S14 as my daily. I would much rather have a stock something, but it works for now.

Whatever advice we give him he wont listen.

I was the same way, parents bought me my first car.beat it to hell and back, finally blew.helped me with my second car, wrecked it.now I pay for all my own stuff.im lucky they let me live at home still.

Granted they weren't brand new mazdas, the cars I trashed were cheap, yet decent daily drivers.

ANYWAY......from the sounds of it,your parents have five cars...why not sell the ms3 as a shell, give that money to your mom.then DD one of those five cars(if your parents let you) and start saving your money....till your done with college.....and have a legit job, then get yourswlf a 240.

I know I really want an STi,and I could prolly take a loan out for one,but then I would start modding it and I would never get through school.

im gonna try calling insurence, but im not sure how it blew up we dont know...never touched boost or anything.
i think im gonna buy the 240 on my own, have it through college and keep saving. then after college i would wanna get maybe a new evo or take my moms 335 maybe even an m3 through a small loan plus there help. idk. i can "daily" there cars only so much, but there really strict about letting me drive them, especially after blowing a motor.
im really not sure what im gonna do haha this really sucks.

and jspek, i agree, your s2k....great daily hahha i saw you on street road last week, my friend pointed it out and he hates cars even.

get about 10k saved and tell your mom you'll put 10k towards a new car and she pay the rest and get a Genesis. 240s will bring a budget builder nothing but issues.

Just get a plain, bland, simple car that gets good gas mileage and call it a day. Like others have said, your future is more important than what car you drive right now. And let's face the facts, being young and careless just doesn't go hand in hand with a nice car or project or anything. Trust me, we have all been there in one way or another.

yea idk what im doing yet, i have my college education paid for and my hs education is one of the best around....my school ethics are where they should be and i know i will succeed in that area and be ok. i just dont want to get outta the car scene really. im very thankful that i dont have to pay for my education and that it doesnt conflict with my car (varied situation per say) which is why i dont plan on leaving yet.
i found a 1995 red s14. 125k miles on the original ka motor. no rust, spotless interior. only thing is its an auto. i figure buy this for 2500, save up until graduation, and then use graduation money...and either swap everything, or get something different and more practical

Why not just have your mom buy a daily and a project?

NO what I am saying is that you are doing the bandwagon thing and I for see the future right now, you get a 240, you will start sliding on the street, you will wreck your car and more than likely injure someone or damage personal property. when the cops come you will be stupid enough to slip up and say yes sir I was drifting and did this. Hence causing issues and don't tell me you won't slide on the street or wreck it, cause i will gladly throw the BS flag at you all day long.

Listen dude, do what you want. It's cool you want to step up and do **** for yourself, but if it is going to put you in a hole then don't do it. If you want a 240, do some research and get a 240. Why let other people make your decision for you? You are apparently a smart kid so make your own decisions rather then letting TST flame you for being you.

Forget all the people blasting you for having a family with financial security, you know what that is called: "Closet jealously". Don't care if they claim it to be something different, it is what it is. I was jealous as hell when I read your first post saying you got a MS3 for your birthday when you were 16. **** I had to buy my first POS 1997 Sentra with my own money when I was 17, I wish my parents bought me a car, or paid for my school or anything. Don't act like a rich snobby tool (not saying you are so don't take that wrong way), and you won't get treated like one.

Do what you want, and what makes you happy.

^exactly. and if your high school was so "good" then you're grammar and spelling is not showing it lol

but in all seriousness why dont you just rebuild the motor?

hey north's education was good and it help me

I agree though, just get the motor and call it a day. nowadays nobody looks at a 240 without the intention of sliding it. Let's just be honest. Even dealers and private sellers know that. That's why a 17 year old car or so is still catching up to $4500

if you want to make a smart decision do not buy a 240. it has 130,000 miles on it. you can just rebuild your engine with the money you are getting and have a brand new block and you car is already a 07. why down grade and keep paying to maintain the 240

dude if your mom is willing to get you a car do it. getting an older car is just gonna give you more problems. just get a newer car and use that throughout college and what not.
