sorry to say, but employer's don't give a **** about employee's making less than $xx.xx/hour.

you're expendable to them... highly expendable. in the grand scheme of things you're easily replaced and it won't cost much to train a new monkey to do your job. And amazingly, if they do replace you they'd probably pay a little more hourly as well.

cliff notes: get a real job with a real company. acura dealership or retail or whatever.... you gotta get out of there, you're not going to get a raise and your company doesn't value or respect you. it's time to move on

i work at a dealership too jacki and it has its pros and cons. if you think they will move you to a higher paying position or give you a raise stay. if not then i would leave. i think dealerships take the lower position people for granted i do alot of stuff that isnt my job but i guess it'll just help in the long run cause its one less thing you have too learn. but salesman are really hard to work with most are so self centered its nuts. after working at the dealer for a year one salesman forgot my name

I'm very surprised there aren't annual reviews at an established business like that. Seems very unprofessional to me. If you've spoken to your boss and expressed your concerns and haven't gotten anywhere, then i'd start looking elsewhere actively. Good luck!
my yearly review is right around the corner isnt it

I would start looking for another job. I started my job in June, and in September I got a raise. After 4 years of working there you should have received at least one raise. You shouldn't put up with bull**** employers, it is not worth the effort and headaches.

Apply at other dealerships definitely.
I know people at honda that work as cashiers for $12.00 an hour.

as others have said, apply elsewhere.

do you have benefits currently, or any other "perks" offered to you though the company?

secure another job and tell them to shove it.

there is always the risky "I found another job, and they're going to pay me $x.xx/hr"

but seeing how you are being treated now, they would probably say "ok, see ya"...

not what you want lol

Don't feel bad, they treat their tech's the same way. Hence why I quit my job at Toyota and went to an independant shop.

This, but its also an easy way to make things uncomfortable for the other family that works there. You would be in the right but at the end of the day, is it worth it for this job? I would of been searching for a new job years ago if I was still at my starting salary.

if your the only cashier working 8-4, say you know you deserve a raise, and you would like at least a $2 raise. if you dont get a raise, put in your 2 weeks notice and site the lack of money as the reason. If they dont give you the raise obviously they dont really value your help.

They don't give a **** about their employees. They tried to threaten to fire me for refusing to do a job that another tech ****ed up. I said "awesome! see ya in court" and walked away. Still talk to a few guys that are still there and nothings changed. Still a ****hole owned by a greedy **** who could care less about anything that doesn't involve him or his prescious nsx. Walking away from that place was the best decision I made.

The next time you get called in to work someone else's job/shift tell them you're unavailable.

You DO know where I work aaand you're sooo right! He's got a Porche there, too, now. Can't get a raise if the pres is spending all of his money on cars.
