yep, staples has case's for like 30-40 bucks IIRC... if not newegg has em real cheap

Best $20 bucks I ever spent. Lets you plug it any IDE/Sata/older laptop hard drive too it and plug into USB port. Also comes with a power supply to power the drives if needed.

Thanks a lot guys, i'm going to take it apart maybe tonight. I checked my battery and that isn't part of the recall, but I'm going to see about fixing the GPU and adding the copper pad because honestly I like my laptop a lot and I'd hate to trash it if it's easily fixable.

This is a notorious problem with a slew of HP/Compaq etc models. We fix about two of these every week. They are very temperamental and if you don't do it right the first time it's "scrap". If you want, toss me a PM and I can quote you on the fix.
