But if I don't put it in there, well then I think I may build forged for boost or spray.

Why not have reused the 853 castings on the LQ4? Nice compression boost and friendly with the proper cam
A spare 6.0 is always a nice thing to have. And aren't the flow numbers on the 853s a bit lower than the 243/317s? I haven't really looked too much into heads to be honest, they just aren't in the budget. The only big budget item possibly on the table now is a Detroit True-Trac. Not being able to power through corners with the open diff SUCKS.

Yeah I actually signed up because I saw you were over here, never thought trucks would be welcome.

Impressive numbers on the truck. Def. wouldn't expect it. 17's to low 13's, very nice.
Sure, just the "pants on" kind of friends until I know you better.

Well the 317 and 243's flow the same, but the compression dish is larger on the 317's and the 243 use a lighter valve. You can mill the 317's but you loose that piston to valve clearance. I meant 852 heads not 853's

Now they don't flow the same, but instant compression gains. You had those heads on the other motor so it would have been a decent swap over, but 243's are cheap to be had these days. I like a 243 milled to 63cc, at the same time the L92's flow awesome.

Casting Number 317

Combustion Chamber Volume: 64.45cc

Exhaust Port Volume: 75cc

Exhaust Valve Diameter: 1.55 inches

Casting Number 852 & 706

Yeah when I was collecting parts, I was trying to be able to run 87 octane since then I drove over 12k a year, but now that I go a month at a time without even seeing the truck (and put on less than 1/4 of the miles), I'm wishing I would have upped the compression. Oh well, it's running a FULL SECOND faster than I planned going into the build, so no regrets.

Thanks. It will be getting cleaner at some point over the next few months, there will be some color matching, and some de-chroming.

Nope, you've got the LQ4. My engine actually came out of an '06 Yukon Denali (XL though).

PM me with what you got? I doubt I'll need any of it, but you never know.

If you need anything either, I've got a bunch of stuff.

Haha thanks man. The reactions I get in the staging lanes are usually pretty amusing, especially when they look for nitrous or some form of forced induction.
