Don't know why you are surprised by any of this?

The GT series has always been able to pull incredible **** on its fan base because it was the only real driving simulator on the market. Everything else was either an arcade racer or a joke.

Then Forza came out and started to give the series actual competition putting some series heat on Polyphony, causing them to scramble to add features to their game. While I have no doubt the end result will be good, it -will- be missing "core" features fans expect.

I don't expect anything from it. I gave up waiting. I'd rather have a game that is damn good(Forza), then wait years for something that probally will be better, but how much better for the wait? Reminds me how disappointing Starcraft 2 is... yes I enjoy it, but I'm so disappointed it took so long for that is was.

If you can't change wheels, its not epic or advanced.

I'm all about attention to detail in games. I get pissed in shooters when I can't shoot out lights or shoot random bottles/trash or shoot out windows.

And for the interior views. This greatly disappoints me. In forza3 all I do is the cockpit view, I'm so used to it that I have a hard time driving outside of the car now. Now to find that 80% of the cars will not have that is a big let down.

I know GT has always been the race simulator, function over form to the max, etc.

But seriously, how can you not be bothered by this? Especially considering this option was available in GT4.

I just want to see what people who don't care about this think when they go build a Miata or something to around 500whp and can't do anything as far as traction or handling because the car is stuck with stock wheel and tire sizes.

While I agree with you here, the cockpits are a let down, I think the amazingness that are the cockpits on the premium cars might make up for the lack of cockpits on that standards.

However, the fact that Premiums receive real damage and Standards have scratches and scrapes, well that's a different story.

Do you bother - at all - to read previous posts or even take into consideration what wheels actually do for a car? It's way more than just looks, man.I wouldn't consider wheels "fancy crap" whatsoever, I'd say there just about necessary to change on any street car in the game. Sure vehicles like Ferraris and Porsches don't need a new set of wheels on them, but surely if you were to buy a civic or something and fully build it, race modifications, etc. you would benefit from a different wheel setup...

I've been saying for the longest time the HP2 was one of my favorite games. The levels are just so great for their time. It was far too easy though.

in gt4 yes you could change rims...but it was a look effect only. there were no options for size/eight etc.. just had to pick ones you thought looked cool. which i assume is the same as it will be in the new game

the choice between at least 9 different tire grades which prologue has if fine for me.

Surprised no one is talking about it. I bought it... and I wish I didn't.

It has all kinds of "little" problems:
4/5th the cars have fugly models ripped out of GT4 with no cockpit view and etc.
Graphics suck sometimes. Lots of tearing and low fps at times.
Horrendous load times, but that's a ps3 issue in general.
AI is awful, apparently ripped straight out of GT4 also.
The initial install (which you can skip) takes 40 ****ing minutes and the game STILL installs stuff later on as you play. Every time I load a new track or check out a new car it displays "installing" in the lower right corner.
Other stuff I'm forgetting...

But the big issue is that the game straight up is not fun. It's not a Forza killer. It's not even a Forza competitor.

The modding/tuning system is like a fossil compared to Forza.

The races suck big time to. Who the **** came up with this ****? VW Bus around the Top Gear test track? Yaris only race? Daihatsu ****box showdown? Half of them are for classic cars. Most of the races you can't even buy a car for from the dealer because the dealer cars are all "premium" (aka the ones they didn't get lazy on), which are newer cool cars and not 1960s turds. You have to either go to the used car dealer and hope you find an appropriate car to buy or pray you win something you can use eventually. Seriously why the hell would they make it so half the races you can't even buy a car for unless you get lucky?

Oh and there are only 5 tiers of 6 races each. That's a whopping 30. Forza 3 has what, 200something? There's a B spec mode where you "coach" an AI driver. The races are the same as A spec mode (drive your self) though. It's basically like hiring a driver in Forza but instead of going and eating a snack while the AI wins a race for you, you have to sit there and click buttons like "go faster" and "pass".

But why do the boring ass races that hardly give you any money or experience when you could just do the "special events"? They're basically challenges with a preset car where you either have to come in a certain place or beat a certain time. Some of them suck, some of them are really fun. Some of them are controller throwing wall punching ragingly difficult, some are gold on the first try easy. No consistency.

There are license tests, but apparently you don't ever need any of the licenses. I haven't needed them yet anyway.

There is supposedly car damage, a touted feature of the game, but you have to "unlock" higher level races before you can use it. Retarded.

When I actually get to drive a car I want to drive (not often) it's an absolute blast. The actual driving is more fun than Forza IMO, but my opinion is probably heavily skewed since I can use my Logitech G25 with the PS3 vs playing Forza with a controller.

Overall everything just feels half baked. Should have been called GT: Prologue 2 and sold at a $40 price point.

You'd think that after so long and all the delays, it'd be a better game... GT is going downhill, fast....

I'm still out about it. Not really sure what I think. Things I don't like are really kind of towering over things I do like right now.

I don't like having to level up to race.
I don't like having to level up to buy nice cars.
The special events are interesting. Some of them are easy, some of them I have given up on entirely.
NASCAR? Where?
Where the F are the endurance races?! I haven't been able to unlock everything yet, but I don't see them anywhere. Granted last time I played a GT was GT2 for PS1.
Is anyone else RAPING the competition like I am? I drove a 350hp Acura concept car against a Bugatti Veyron at the high speed track and WON. WTF!

I'm just not entirely sure this game is anything like it was supposed to be.

Edit: I should add though, the driving is definitely fun. Cars handle like they should, most of them frustratingly terribly.

i've just played it last night once, and the game froze up on me 2 or three times in the initial start up, i had to quit and re-enter.
