As far as customer service, you will want to take your stuff back for your own chance to make money back. Just count this as a loss. If you make him "madder" he could hurt you in the long run. I know he's not someone you would want to help but most of the time if he would tell me "they installed a slow turbo in my car" I would question the kid and I would question the shop. I know better but there are a good amount of people who get their cars worked on by word of mouth. R/t and GV had to have dealt with idiots like this before.

I would have him take the car back to you, and put all his old crap on it. Let him waste his own money.

*wrong has to be really really wrong, but if their really really wrong, their wrong. Sometimes you just cant win though.

dude i cant believe that... i guess thats what you get for being a great guy. I would of been forever grateful to you for such cheap parts and quality work. that HKS exhaust is alone worth over a grand.
This kid is crazy... he doesnt realize how lucky he got.

I'd take that deal in a heart beat, and probably thank you 1,000 times... id still be thanking you right now.

Picture this..

A everyone else has said put the old **** back in his car then send him a link to this thread to show him how much of an ass clown he is. I worked in a service dept for hyundai and This has happened a couple of times not to this extent but a customer came in to get new tires and usually you have to pay for mounting and balancing but we did that for free and he takes it off the lot and comes back and says his car doesn't ride the same and pulls to the right hard and so I took it for a drive with him and the road leading to the dealership tends to make cars pull o the right a lil so as soon as we got on the road he told me to let go to see the pull. I told him about the road and he said I was making excuses so I took him on to 78 and showed him everything was fine but he insisted that it was way out of alignment and wanted his old tires back (mind you all 4 of the old tire were almost bare) he talked to my manager who despite agreeing with me comped him for all of the tires, gave him a realignment for free and sent him on his way. It sucks but it's the way it is.

Forgot to add never a thank you for taking the time out of my lunch to test the car with him and try to resolve the situation I never raised my voice or argued. I just told him we can't put the old tires on for his safety and that we would realign it.

People are insane you've done all you could and more to try and satisfy him. I would put his old setup back in. Plus chances are he doesn't know how to drive and if you eliminate the lag by adding the supporting mods he would eventually crash it because he won't be able to handle it since he thinks his stock blown setup is faster.

I would have loved to have the chance to watch the work to try and learn how to work on my car. For how you helped him out since he didn't say thank you I'll say it for him lol so thanks for being a guy who knows what he's doin and is willing to take the time to teach and help out someone who obviously needs it

Chris,

I could not believe it either. I guess we are use-to larger frame turbo's. If it's under 5-6k, I don't think it's that much lag.

lol when i went from a DSM to the evo i had to get use to the later spool time XD. I got use to it fast, but their was a difference. The turbo and the bov got annoying on my GSX (t-25) since i shift around 3k and the turbo spools up at like 2.5k.

I have an idea, get him to meet up with me, and I'll give him a ride in my cobra. He will feel instant boost, then, he will think that his stock turbo sucks and takes to long to "go". And he will come back to you and pay you whatever you want to make his car have more "go time" lol.

On a serious note, sometimes, there isn't much you can do with people like that. I would simply put your foot down with him, and set the bottom line. He either accepts what you have done, or you put him back to his stock setup. Part ways, and never service/help that guy again.
