Im a big compression ignition junkie hahaha yea I was thinking about a s366 I have a s300 based turbo right now but I hear yea on it might a little too small to spool up a s480 but I was also thinking about HT4B or HT3B because guys use the 3B with a stock HX35 for a setup and it spools wicked good. It all depends if I want to go all out horsepower truck or a tow rig because Im building a jeep this winter same with my brother and going to be buying a 28' gooseneck trailer to haul them.

Damn. I keep forgetting about how hard it is for you guys to light turbos. Sheesh an htt s366 will light on my truck about as fast as stock and I'm still on stock sticks. I basically gave up on towing a while ago. Half my leaf springs are on the floor of my basement haha

lol yea Im using DDP stage 3's right now but next spring I wanna go up to 5x.014 or bigger Im pretty sure Im using a 5x.012 right now. I havent decided on if my wheeling rig will be able to travel a good ways and where im going to go wheeling will depend if I want 550hp towable or 700hp drag/street truck. Its a 8000lb truck I know it will never go fast but I still like having the HP when needed. I spool the s300 I have no problem and can spool a s366 with my pumped tuned right. What truck you got?

i dunno man, yea their both gonna spool but ive riddin in trucks that are basically the same one with a standard 4292 with the 1.01 housing and one with the s472 with the .9 housing and the s472 spooled significantly faster even though its larger...

airworks FTW lol
Depends on the turbine/comp wheel combo. Also could have been a VGT,Variable geometry turbo.

true but the smallest exhaust wheel ive seen effectively push the s475 was the 83... not saying he couldn't have something else thats just all ive seen.. and i know in the .9 housing its a tight squeeze...

does airwerks offer a VGT turbine? my Garrett is VGT and i hate it...ill never have another one again. drive pressure is off the chart

Dam dude! Dmax's are stupid fast with EFI live tune and a good transmission and can dip low into the 12's or high 11's with a good 4x4 launch, driver and slicks. I almost bought a dmax but didnt want to pull a loan and paid cash for the cummins and with a good launch in 4x4 I can get into the low 14's high 13's with its current tune up.

yea, 11's haven't been done yet on the stock snail the record is 12.18 but thats a complete race truck...

im currently #9 on the list of fastest ever stock turbo trucks(12.44). after slicks and headers/up-pipes and also a new intake bridge im hoping to go up a few spots.. then swap the turbo... probably for an s472 with the race cover and the .9 turbine housing or if my money tree comes in a GTX4294

Good God! Thats great! I love when you see some of these diesels at the track. Last year when I was at LBV in the evening there was a white Duramax that went high 11's and the guy came straight from work with a big ol' box and some tall ass tires.

I've been waiting for that same damn tree to sprout in my yard for years. I ain't seen hide nor hair. I can tell you how to grow a **** outa' luck tree.

After that turbo swap the truck should scream! you going to do injectors? i heard stock blocks only like 40% over injectors also you going to be using an upgraded CP3? I might stick with a 66/71/13ss for a turbo because I can make almost 600hp with that single and bake tires off like there is no tomorrow. I just wanna have fun with the truck and maybe hit 12 second 1/4 miles and still make a full pull at some local brush pulls. Also my truck has 226k on it and still runs like a champ and burns no oil or anything lol

thanks, ill be looking for highish 11's on the stock internals anything more then that and you're seriously pushing your luck (even 11's at all is pushing it a little) the LB7/LLY motors have weak rods they usually take between 6-800 hp. the LBZ/LMM has weak pistons but slightly better rods. injectors really don't have anything to do with how the motor holds bigger is actually better if you can keep rail pressure up to help use less timing, im creepin on 30* now.

im gonna hold on to the stock cp3 as long as i can..if i can make 650 with it ill be happy..those bastards are expensive.

will the brush pulls let you compete with twins? is so i would just throw an s475 atmospheric on that bad boy and call it a day haha.

yea when I was looking for dmaxs people said on the forums you could only go so big with injectors maybe because power wise what they can put out the stock bottom end wouldnt like it? I wish I got a dmax just because of how easy it is to make power but I just love the mechanical injection and the easy of use of a cummins and the bosch P7100.

Yea most local brush pulls here in CT and MA will allow me to compete and some Ive seen dont even do a tech inspection. I might just run a HTT Sled puller 66 or Silver Bullet 66 because ive been reading those can make 750whp on that single and just get a cam to help spool perfect for street driving if I decided not to tow with the truck. If I do end up towing 15k+ Im gunna run a perfectly matched twin setup to help lower EGT's matched with water/meth

yea those p-pumps can supply an ignorant amount of fuel and in a short duration too, problem is the fixed timing and lower injection pressure. but they're still cool as hell just in the way they work and put out serious power.. just at a lower efficiency rate

as far as dmax injectors go, yea you can only go so big on stockers i think the record is something like 11.50' problem is you can only use x pressure in a HPCR system and to get more fuel you need to increase pulse width (duration of time its spraying fuel) and the problem with that is in order to have the fuel enter at a useful time in the stroke the timing has to be mega advanced which equals less then idea cylinder pressures. so with bigger sticks you get more fuel in during the same duration so you can put it right where you want it in the stroke and run less timing more efficiently...

where you from bro? dunno how far you are but if you're interested we're trying to have a big end of the year diesel test n tune day at atco on the 20th. i have a couple friends coming down from CT to run and a few form NY probably and some from PA too.

Yea the ppump are like carbs but when you get them dialed in they run like champs haha

Yea with the lucky part about you dmax guys you can have the EFI live tune and a good tuner help you with that Im trying to tune this myself so I can learn more and more about diesel and Im also considering going back to school to be a diesel tech.

Im from centeral CT hell yea I would be interested in going down if you let me know if you guys get it together and I can take some time off and I can try to get some of my other buddies with their trucks to come down as long as I can get it off from work. How far away is atco? Ive been down to english town with my ford but never been to atco.

sweet, yea ive been working on tuning my own as well...it seems really hard but only you get a grasp of it its not that bad.

atco is about another 1:15 away or so...quicker track though so you put down slightly faster times usually

Its always a big plus when you know how to tune your own vehicle espically to save you money lol

Yea the hoosier tire factory is right by my house so I would be picking up a set of slicks for the back since I wouldnt want to launch in 4wd without billet shafts in my transmission

yea i know when you break one of the shafts (input i think?) on those trannies you destroy the front hub and some other stuff in there..big damage. luckily when the ally breaks one the only damage is the shaft itself...and the stockers take 800+ hp most of the time

Yea its either the input or output shafts that break but mostly when launching in 4wd the one to go first usually is the output which is sometimes an easy fix and doesnt destory alot of stuff if the input shafts breaks you destory the converter with it

ouch! i paid way too much for my converter to take a chance like that..good call on the 2wd stuff. a month or 2 back i snapped a front axle at the track so before i went home i tried a 2d run for the hell of it and went 13.9 everyone was like.. wtf
