wow looks like a lot of people are going to be down in the area that weekend..so glad we a re going to be down there. we (antonio and I) both really need to get away.

i am pretty familiar with the whole area. Not 100% on town lines but i've been visiting the Lewes, DE area for the last 10 years or so. My grandfather lives in Lewes and I try to escape to his house at least twice during the summer. that weekend will be my first for the year. im so excited.

i love the rudder!!! when ive gone down to DE alone i used to go there every night on the weekend. and when they were packed id skip across to the light house. never ate at either place but they have good drinks! :-)

i say if it's a day meet/cruise maybe get together at the rudder since they have a nice big lot, but if its a night meet/cruise how bout we head down to OC and we can always go to the green turtle after (another place that has good drinks)(and no im not an alcoholic..lol

I actually think depending on the holiday traffic, a route 1 cruise from Dewey or Rehoboth to OCMD could be pretty decent...maybe find some nice detour roads along the way. Only problem with bars is I'm not 21, but I'm looking to do whatever is possible.

OC is the best bet if there are under 21 peeps in the crowd. Theres a crap ton of restaurants. I know most of the back roads down there since my fam has had a beach place since I was little. If I can't make I will still let you guys know some of the back roads that I usually take. You'd be surprised how empty those roads are even in the summer time.

I'm alergic to alchol so I feel you on that. I could care less about a bar.

Rusty Rudder is a resturant and has a deck bar on the bay. Really cool place. OCMD has alot to do also. I'm down for anything really.

Mini golf, frisbee on the beech, board walk for some silly games and win a crap ton of stuffed animals that I don't want, food, kayake on the bay, maybe a little fishing, mini party at my place, ect.

So I'm feeling an afternoon to evening type deal for this...maybe we could get some food in Dewey at the Rudder for a late lunch type thing around 2 or 3 then cruise down to Ocean City, stop somewhere for a photo op, take some nice back roads, and find somewhere to park in OCMD and figure out something to do there?

It's a very broad plan, but does that sound alright to everyone?

Also, we should get a list together of people planning to attend. Nothing definitive, but if you are committed to devoting an afternoon on whichever 4th of july weekend day works best for everyone, please do a 1. 2. 3. type thing with your screen name so we can get a list together. If you are inviting a significant other/friend to come as well and they will be driving a separate car, just use their name or a placeholder of some sort in addition to yours. Also, I'm including cars just to see what we've got.

Also, the Rudder does look like a good starting point after some scoping. Even with holiday traffic it won't be terribly congested south of Dewey if we take Coastal Hwy and it has a fairly big parking lot where we could all line up.

I thought the scene was dead too, so I figured I'd give it a little jump start. Remember that anyone is welcome to this event but we need to know how many people roughly will be attending so we can get a reservation at the rudder and let them know not to freak out about a bunch of tuned up cars randomly showing up.

Feel free to post this on your manufacturer/model specific forum if you have one (S2KI for me) to generate more interest, but make sure you keep track of anyone who may be going.

I'm wondering, would this be easier done on facebook?

facebook could be a good option... but the only problem with that is im sure you dont have most of the members as friends...let's just keep it to here for now.. its easier..

and i will be sure to post up in other forums regarding this.i know of a few people in the area
