Yeah man the realtor we dealt with said he had one first time buyer couple that saw 96 houses before they found the one. I don't want to do that haha.

Wish I was armed this morning...

I've been searching for a carry piece, not as actively as I should have been but when I got the time in my crazy schedule I would look up what I could or make it down to Targetmaster. I havent had any range time since the last time I was with Jon but after my incident this morning, I think its time I do something about it now.

I decided to come into work earlier than normal, 4:30 am to be exact and I was driving a newer BMW 5 series from home and just minding my own business. Decided I'd stop at Dunkin Donuts in town and pulled up to a random redlight where I noticed two males walking down the street on the block before the light, didnt think anything of it in the least...

However, while sitting at the light after playing with the ipod playlist, I for no reason what so ever looked over to my right and noticed one of the two males was within almost arms reach of the car. I was in the left of two lanes and he came from the right side of the street, zero reason for him to be there. We made eye contact and he froze and then immediately turned around and his boy bolted down the street....

My heart obviously started racing, this is probably the third time this has happened - what I would assume to be an attempted car jacking - and I immediately floored it through the light. What bothered me the most was that I wasn't armed, as much as I've been meaning to do so it became one of those "Id rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it moments"

For whatever reason I'm glad I looked that way at that point in time and not sure what he would have accomplished if I didnt since the doors were locked, but its still nerve wracking to say the least.

Just glad it didnt turn for worse and I'll obviously be making moves this week/next week because there are much higher dollar cars that I'm often driving for one reason or another. Also the fact that my shop is always filled with said items, Im just mad at myself for not being prepared sooner...

I'm gonna try and calm myself down and get back to work otherwise, just wanted to share.

Im glad nothing came of it, because I have way too much to do this week! haha. Regardless, this is the third time something like this has happened to me. Got surrounded at a gas pump in chester a couple years ago for the Mitsubishi which was new at the time, the guys wanted to take it for a ride and got closer and closer. Still not sure how I managed getting out of that one, legitimately feared my life that time. Second time I had a 911 Turbo and was at a wawa, came out the guy was jiggling the door handle and I hit the alarm on the key fob and he tried playing it off. There was a cop on the side of the building and chased him down on foot, apparently had a warrant already. Then this morning was the "safest" of my encounters I guess but Im sick of being in the kind of cars I'm usually in with no real effective way to protect myself short of my hands. I've had to use them before and saved myself but thats only gonna get me so far.

You don't need a gun, you need a sword.

You can also hire me for private security. I'll throw down.

haha, yeah we're having cameras installed soon. Waiting for the new waiting/reception area to be built out first. Either way, the car driving situation will be common as is, simply either picking them up or delivering them and so on. I cant avoid that and I woulda been driving the fusion but it has some suspension issues that are being resolved so I took my buddies BMW instead. This is a safe and nice area, its just when school is in session here all the ****tards come in and either visit their ****tard friends and **** else to do with their lives.

I'd say at least 3 of my 5 friends I usually am around or are with me at the shop are either armed or have fire arms near by (car and so on) so the personal security at the shop isnt entirely necessary. However, I might look into having additional security when I have higher dollar vehicles being picked up or driven as well as carrying myself from now on.

Oh and if you want to talk to me about a CCTV installation let me know. My business started and that's one of the things I do (as well as home and pool automation). With one of my setups you can watch a weeks worth of video looking for suspicious activity in only a few minutes. Also I am starting to work with HD cameras as well. Also can upload the most recent footage offsite in real time so if the thugs get at the DVR it's way too late for them. I also have fun doing decoy setups so they think they stole the dvr when it's actually hidden better.

In case anyone more technically oriented is wondering I would just setup a zoneminder system (easier said than done after you work through the bugs and other necessary customizations) on a core i3 box.

My home setup cost me $600 in parts and paid for itself when my painter ran into the m3 and tried to deny it. I had no idea who did it if not for the fact that I went back over the last couple weeks of video easily.

LOL and everyone thinks the cameras I use are just floodlights so they do stupid **** in front of them constantly. Endless entertainment.
