So here's what you do. Go to myfico.com and order your complete credit profile. FICO scores, credit history, everything. Use this information and apply for a credit card. If you get rejected for the card, apply for a secured card. Build up your own credit. In a few years if you are careful with your money and maintain a good credit history, you'll be able to get a car loan without a cosigner like I did

My parents have decent credit. It used to be really bad a few years back (like 10).

credit was the first thing i could start on my own, and be of full responsibility of.

and it is really bad when both of your parents are your major influences, for what you DON'T want to be in life. how you don't want to live your life... and how many things you will do differently. like having 5 daughters betweeen the ages 18 and 26. dummies.

My original intent was to put like 5k down on my car but my MX6 crapped out too soon so I only put 1k down.

Why don't you just work hard, save money, get a credit card or two, maintain good payment history, save up money for a good down payment, and buy yourself a car?

That would require me not to spend money . I think Imma try...hell I get paid enough...its better to buy a car when I have practically no bills anyway.
