the motor is in PA and the shell is in a junkyard. Don't remind me Dustin. It's all good though I'm looking at is300 something that is sporty enough to have fun in but roomy enough to tow my girl and kid.

I don't dislike DSM's.

I was just ranting about how ugly they are.

DSM's do boogie though.

I just jumped on AIM btw.

It's probably the nicest S2000 I've seen, ever.

The only thing keeping it from perfection is a hardtop.

(By the way, I'm officially the top poster in this thread. It wasn't easy to pass Cepa, but I did it.)

The wing is probably functional, or at least could be functional with some tuning.

It looks awesome anyway.

The thing is 2-3 maybe 4 years ago you did prolly see a ton of DSMs, unfortunately a lot of those cars fell apart and the kids that didnt know dick about those cars are out of the ball game. turbo DSMs are getting more and more rare to just see driving around.

A 240 is a lot like a civic, its non turbo and the chances of the engine falling apart is so much more slimmer than some 20 year old DSM engine with a 16G no tune and 20+psi. So therefore anybody can have one and drive it around and beat on it with some fair reliability (a lot like a honda)

A DSM I cant remember the last time somebody I know purchased a properly running DSM. Or purchased a "running" dsm only to have it completely fall apart in 2 weeks

There is like 10+ beat ass 240s driving around for every 1 "running" dsm

If drift styled is zipties, dents, primer, then I guess yes they are certainly drift styled.

Honestly if you are comparing 1G DSMs to S13s the DSMs look way better. and if you are comparing S15s you should be comparing them to a 2G dsm which a 2GB GSX looks way better than an S15.

Personally my favorite DSM is the 1GB, i have thought numerous amounts of time of retiring my panda and buying a 1GB shell and swapping everything into it, i just don't know if i can bring myself to do it.

To me in the DSM world unlike the 240 world, everyone is about the stock body parts, a stock body 240 looks plain and un-aggressive, hence why people add body kits to 240s, but stock for stock a 92DSM looks way more aggressive than a stock body 92 240.

A car for the fro <3

Just a comparison shot

I'm not entirely sure what point you're trying to argue here.

I said DSM's looked like poop. You're saying they're all broken?

And as far as Zipties, Dents, and Primer, you're dwelling on an incorrect stereotype. It seems that you're describing a missile, a car that's purpose is to drift and not much else. When you hit a wall in said missile then you don't care and continue to drive.

Not all 240 owners are like that. The issue is that kids these days think drift damage is cool. It's not. No one wants to see a haggard piece of a 240 driving around on the street looking like it's been through hell and back.

Drift Damage is only cool if you're at a track and damage your car and continue to drive it.

Regardless, there's a movement towards cleaner building cleaner 240's with more of an emphasis on style. Give the scene another year or two and I think you'll see a huge shift.

So what you are saying is, that DSMs in general look like ****? like cepas and foolinarounds? both of which cars were clean?

If that's the case, sorry kids don't strap SICK JDM tyte body kits to their DSMs to make em not look like "poop", sounds like your in the Rice game fro, body kits, wheel stretch, twin tower wings and jdm parts. Thats a whole can of fail that doesn't belong in the DSM world, HELLLAH FLUSH DAWG

Most 240s ARE "missile" cars, minus the "drifting" part. Cool DSMs:

^note how those cars are actually racing

Lmao.

Alex, I love how we're arguing in this thread and then talking about cloves and compression in my build thread. <3.

Some of those DSM's looked rad, but then again any car that pulls wheels looks rad.

I wouldn't really look at it as arguing, just two car people discussing how they feel about certain platforms.

But in the grand scheme of things arguing which 90s sports car looks better is pretty silly, cause to the average person we all drive junkers and pieces of **** cause they cant compare to the looks and styling of new cars.

To the average person our cars are nothing but 20 year old mistakes that should have been traded in at the cash for clunkers a long time ago, but these cars are so much more to us, they are our life and passion.
