There are numerous dyno charts to show AFR readings of 11.9-12.3 at 10 psi with intake/full exhaust/boost controller. He only has the boost and intake and no full exhaust, so his AFR readings should be around 11.5-11.7

With the stock timing, detonation won't occur until 11.5-12 psi.

I set my PRofec B boost settings in 5th gear.

I set mine using 3rd-4th. It sits solid at 9psi in anything up to 4th, 5th it spikes to 10 and in about a second falls to 9, wasnt about to test 6th on city streets.

^riiiiiiight

Now I have to decide on stage 2 (wont be for another few months but id like to have it all figured out cause there are a lot of things i might have to change)

Id like to get a fully custom made straight pipe, turbo back..will I be facing any backpressure issues?? My idea is to actually make a dual. Here is a drawing

Rear of the car as it sits

My idea is to make a cutout mirrored to the stocker on the other side of the rear "diffuser" and add another mazdapseed tip (will buy OEM from mazda)

Possible problems with idea:
Cost..might be cheaper to get a full exhaust but I doubt it
Backpressure...ehh..what backpressure
Rice??
What resonator to use
flex pipe or not
etc
edit: also doubt those OEM tips are 3inch

I am looking for a sound between this
deep tone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvpQs35g-t0

and this
turbo sound
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=27065871

I know revision would want me to so just for fun

no resonators on turbo cars.
no back pressure issues.
no cats.
just do one pipe, it would look raw.

Why duals? Pearl is right, as soon as my exhaust is smashed I doing a fence pole side exit. One bend after the downpipe.

Looks like there is some more tunin needed. Had room on my way to work today to open it up and in 4th gear it shoots to 10psi and about 4 seconds later I get what I think is boost cut (feels like the speed governor on my old civic)

At least now its not at 15psi so I can gradually tune it down on my way to and from work without having to worry about frying anything.

you don't have boost cut, fool, we disconnected the stock boost controller...it could be fuel cut which is pretty bad...

Actually I should have boost cut. The guys on mazda-speed.com say to tune the MBC by waiting till you hit boost cut, if you do, tune it down.

Ill call FlyinMiata today and see whats what. The engine keeps pushing at that point, but the boost gauge just plummets

The stock EBC is still there, has the clip in it, but there arent any tubes going to it.

that's the thing, your car no longer controls boost. It only controls fuel and timing at this point (and whatever else, but not boost), the only way it can limit boost is to cut fuel, which will make it lean.

lol dude just put your boost at 9psi, or whatevers safe, and run that. Stop ****ing around with your new car.

And you know the difference of those two exhaust clips are that ones open downpipe and ones not, right?
