My roommate started laundry this morning at 6am... so my morning shower was freezing.

my dad died an hour ago and i can't seem to do anything else besides sit and stare at the computer and read forums like i normally do. pretty f***ed up, not sure why it works like that.

I'm sorry to hear man...in my personal experience, I think its a matter of it hitting you and it hasnt yet. I've lost some close family members and initially it was like "oh..." and I carried on with whatever I was doing and then later in the day or the next day it was like BAM - breakdown, realize the loss, it sucks. Probably doesnt help but just what I've noticed personally...

Im sincerely sorry, not sure what I would do either if I lost either of my parents.

thanks guys. sorry for bringing the thread down! lol.

it's just weird. we were never really close, and our family isn't one that is real clingy and does big gatherings, etc. so i guess that makes it a bit easier. also we had almost a full week to kind of prepare since he had a series of severe strokes on sunday/monday and that's when we took him to the hospital.

it's just that i knew him my whole life (obviously) and now it's like i just sit here thinking 'really? he's actually gone?' i dunno. like i said, it's just a really weird feeling at this point.

my post before was because i felt bad that he just died and i was sitting on TST. lol. whatever.

bumper off my car...gonna polish up the intercooler endtanks and try to fix my one fog light that is not working...

Also I need an idea for a piece of metal or ABS to cover the hole under the hood where the filler neck went for the washer fluid bottle since I removed that today.. I figure like a thin piece of sheet metal sprayed wrinkle black and maybe riveted or screwed on the frame? Thoughts or suggestions?

Im patching a spot in my engine bay where I made a slight boo-boo. I cut my hole for my intercooler piping in the wrong place, so now i have an extra 4" hole where the battery used to be. What Im going to do is cut out a new circle to weld in there. If you use a piece of brass on the underside, it makes it really easy to patch the holes without blowing through constantly. The brass will conduct electricity and will hold up the filler metal. Then when youre done, the brass chips right off.

I used round plastic clips to cover the holes left from the front license plate on the front of my evo's bumper. They were painted to match the car. There could be a similar solution to your idea. It seems easier to paint plastic versus having to weld something onto your hood.
