Why do you say that? I already have a Ruger 10/22 that I bought for my son and have been modifying.

agree.

My GSG-5 is my favorite .22LR rifle I've ever shot. There's just something that makes it so much more fun than a 10/22 or equivalent. Maybe just because it's tacticool, I dunno...

In other news, I was gifted an M44 Nagant in awesome shape over the weekend. You can actually cycle the bolt by hand without injuring yourself!

A buddy of mine who used to live with a roommate in VT and now lives in OR told me if I went to his old roommate's place in VT and mailed him the pellet gun he left there I could have his Nagant for free.

I was up at Killington for some riding this past weekend and stopped by his former roommate's place while I was in town. Score for me! Now to find some 54R...

Anyone care to school me on possible upgrades? What should I do with it? (besides shoot stuff)

leave it alone... they are great shooters! (is it numbers matching?) we threw a sling on ours and have it sitting on the mantel.

I like my GSG for the "tacticool" factor as well but it's a lot heavier than the 10/22 since mine isn't that cheap ass plastic version they sell now a days. So I find when I'm out shooting with my son since he has a harder time managing it we use the 10/22 instead. The last few visits have resulted in the GSG not even making it to the range as I'd rather bring other guns to shoot for myself. Plus it'll free up some money if I sell it for some other firearms I've been eyeing up.

I checked out off the threads yesterday and interested in either the AR or the GSG since im still unsure if i can justify dropping the money i need to on an AR when i have one semester left of school Like i said i guess i will know i a few weeks and if they're still around

Not sure about matching numbers. Where do I look?

Is it worth it to put some sort of magnified optic on it? It's the closest thing I have right now to a "long-range" rifle. (Eventually I'd like to get an AR10 or maybe even a SCAR heavy to set up as a "sniper support" style rifle)

Yep, I bought my 1st gen GSG right after they announced the lawsuit. Still trying to decide which stock I want to put on it:

I have the telescoping on mine and while I like it and it makes it easier for smaller people (such as my son) to hold it, it shortened it a little too much for my liking which is the other reason I think I don't shoot it as often.

Spent some quality time at the range today with my babies...oh and Jay was there too with his.

Removed the factory 1.5x optic and replaced it with the top rail & my red/green dot 2x optic. Which coincidentally broke by the end of the day.

Made right here in PA.

Made in the U.S.A. Damn straight!!!

Personal protection...so what if I open carry them both at the same time.

just got a new lower (not actual pic)

i am going to build into a light competition gun but trying to keep the budget bearable... looking to go Daniel Defense Lite Rail 7.0, Tango Down Stubby Grip, Troy Fixed H&K Front Sight... and maybe swap to a newer Stark pistol grip

I love my Stark grip. Best one on the market, imo. I got the version with the QD swivel on the back.

That's what everyone says. Then they shoot it and I have to quickly take it back and lock it in the truck so it doesn't "walk off".
