Family wanted me to hang home on Sunday sadly so I didn't get a chance to come out.

A lot of people don't think Jukes have potential to be anything special, but on a basic tune using ECUtek, a stock Juke put out over 230HP. After bolt ons and a MBC 300HP should be an easy target, but no one knows how much these turbos, injectors, or clutch can handle. Also found this and kind of makes me excited to get mine out on the course and see what it can do:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpFVzi5iaZo
That was a FWD, CVT model with a couple of mods. Obviously these cars aren't speed demons, but I enjoy Auto Xing, and from that video, it looks like it can hold its own on the track. Had fun when I did it in my Sentra.

Also heard that the new B17 Sentra Spec-Vs will have the same MR16DDT engine as the Juke, so the after market will grow for these cars when that happens (not that it is lacking, the after market available for the Juke is very surprising). With 2-3 different tuning solutions being released in the coming weeks, a Forge Motorsport upgraded side mount IC, a few new 3" down pipes being made, and everything else out for the car already (INJEN especially has a ton of stuff for it, as does CUSCO) , I think companies are taking the Juke a bit more seriously.

I had a few people ask me why I am bothering to mod the Juke, and I said why not? The after market is available and growing, the platform is a decent one despite it being FWD but I like FWD, the overall look of the car (love it or hate it) is very unique and different, and the engine obviously has a lot of potential for a little 1.6L. I don't think it will ever make huge numbers but I am not looking for that. 275-300HP with matching torque numbers would be all this car needs to make it an absolute blast to drive, and after a tune should be easy to achieve.

This car isn't for everyone, and I have had plenty of people comment on how ugly they think it is, other people love the way it looks. People usually say the front looks like an insect or a frog lol. Regardless, not really sure why people give this little crossover so much flack. It's a boosted sport crossover, not sure why people are confused that they are being modded. People mod FX35s, and they are mid-sized luxury cross-overs lol (grant it they have a more well known platform).

Bottom line is, I absolutely love the car. Most of my friends are Nissan guys so they dig it too, though they much rather see me dump money into the Z31 because the potential that car has is endless (and they all prefer RWD), but I'd rather continue to slowly mod the Juke.

I love the Z31, I loved all my Zs actually and kind of wish I still had my 86 because it was in such good shape. I actually just put my Turbosmart boost
controller in the Z yesterday for ****s and giggles until the Juke is ready for it. Set the boost to around 10PSI (up from 6.7) and it felt like a whole new beast. Without a BOV installed though if you let off the gas and brake too hard it seems to choke the car out and if you don't blip the throttle it stalls lol. The Spec-V did the same thing, and from my understanding it seems to be a common Nissan problem as they like having a recirculated BOV. Regardless, the car just unleashes torque. NO IC= no lag, though if I wanted to turn the boost up anymore I'd have to install one. Not really planning on it since I am hoping its gone soon. Then the money from the Z will all go towards the Juke. I plan on making about 1000$+ car payment with half of it, and put the other half towards wheels or an exhaust if I don't have one by then.

I will say that I think they are ugly.... and that is one of the things I like about it. Very polarizing in it's appearance and I dig that.

Getting a proper tune with the boost adjustments wouldn't solve your throttle issue?

Of course it would. I don't plan on keeping the boost controller on, it was just to play around with it. I'll take it off today or tomorrow. I just wanted to see how the car felt at 10PSI. As I said, I am not planning on dumping anymore money into the Z since it is being sold. It's just that people make 400 torque on the stock turbo, so I just wanted to have a little fun.

I see nothing about being able to afford a car, so apparently all Nissans are **** but the juke for autocross. Bought yourself a real drivers car I tell you! err SUV....

Oh because everyone considers buying a $90,000 car when searching for a new car on this forum right? So naturally anyone thinking about buying a new Lexus that has some power is automatically thinking about buying a LFA right? They have to be by your way of thinking. And SUV? It's no more of a SUV then a Forster is and people auto X and mod those all the time. Both are crossover SUVs.

Oh and I bought it because it had everything I needed and wanted in a DD. The fact that it can be auto crossed is just a plus for me since I enjoy auto crossing. You also seem to have selective reading and must be too ignorant to realize that if I didn't want to pay more for a Z34, then obviously a GTR was never even a thought. If you are done you can leave my thread now.

I thought a Forester fell into the wagon category. Although it looks a little confused in its newest body style.

Definitely agree with you on both accounts, but I think it has always technically been considered a crossover SUV on a Impreza platform. I do agree though that the current gen is much more crossover-ish then previous body styles.
